Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam 2025 is an event held on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Cambodia diplomatic relations (June 24, 1967 - June 24, 2025).
This event is an opportunity for Vietnamese people to understand and know more about the country, culture and people of Cambodia, contributing to promoting cultural diplomacy, enhancing foreign information exchange to promote the image of the country and people of the two countries and effective cooperation in all fields.
At the opening ceremony, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of the Kingdom of Cambodia Lundi Sannara said: “The Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam 2025 is an important event and is organized under the 'Cooperation Plan on Culture and Arts between the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the period 2023-2027'.
For today’s performance, as a Kingdom of Culture, Cambodia has chosen many art forms to perform. Today’s performance is a new step in the history of organizing Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam when the performances are held in two cities, Bac Lieu and Vinh Long, near the border of the two countries.
Ms. Lundi Sannara believes that this meaningful cultural event will create opportunities for Vietnamese people to broaden their vision of Cambodia and its people, contributing to bringing the people-to-people exchange and cooperation between the two countries to a new level. The relationship between the two countries is currently a comprehensive dialogue relationship, clearly demonstrated through official and state visits by high-ranking delegations of the two countries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed that the tradition of solidarity, good neighborly friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia has been constantly consolidated and enhanced.
The Deputy Minister said: “Over the past half century since the two countries officially established diplomatic relations, we are pleased to see that the bilateral cooperation has increasingly developed in depth and breadth in all fields, including continued strengthening of political relations, promotion of defense and security cooperation, and positive changes in economic, cultural, educational, scientific and technological cooperation, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.
Cultural exchange programs between the two countries are regularly organized in terms of bilateral relations as well as within the framework of cooperation between the three countries of Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam and the ASEAN Community. Cultural exchange cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia is increasingly meaningful in further strengthening the solidarity between the two peoples, contributing to the socio-economic development of each country.
According to the Deputy Minister, this year's event took place in Bac Lieu and Vinh Long provinces to introduce to the public the unique and diverse culture of the country of pagodas.
Along with the first Cambodian art program held in Bac Lieu today, the Cambodian cultural activities taking place in Vinh Long with the exchange performances of the Vinh Long art troupe will become a Vietnam - Cambodia cultural exchange event, creating conditions to introduce and promote the unique cultural features of each country; enhancing understanding, solidarity, contributing to strengthening solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the people of the two countries.
Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong hoped that during the tour in Vietnam, the Cambodian delegation would have the opportunity to explore the cultural beauty, people and tourism potential of the localities. The cultural similarities between the two nations will contribute to consolidating, enhancing and further developing the relationship of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability” between the two countries.
On behalf of the host locality, Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang expressed: "Continuing the successes of exchange and cooperation programs in the fields of culture and arts in recent years. In 2025, Bac Lieu province is honored to be chosen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the venue for the Cambodia Cultural Week in Vietnam.

The art performance program and opening ceremony of the Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam 2025 featured special performances by artists, artisans, actors, and musicians from Bac Lieu province and Cambodia.
The program contributes to strengthening relations in the fields of culture, foreign affairs and tourism between Vietnam and Cambodia, and is also a condition for Bac Lieu province to introduce and promote local cultural heritage values to domestic and international friends.
Tomorrow, June 11, the Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam 2025 will take place with activities visiting famous tourist destinations in Bac Lieu such as: Hoa Binh Wind Power Plant, Xiem Can Pagoda, Southern Amateur Music Art Memorial Area - Musician Cao Van Lau and the house of Bac Lieu Prince.
