This is one of the activities of the Industry and Trade sector to develop the market, promote OCOP products of Can Tho City to domestic and foreign tourists; at the same time contributing to the development of trade and services in the city.
According to Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, along with actively implementing promotional activities, trade promotion, and building destinations, the city is interested in integrating OCOP products and local specialties into business at tourist destinations. The Department also cooperates with transportation units to support the best service fees. It is believed that with the diversity of products and services, the operation of OCOP product sales points and local specialties will reach more customers and increasingly expand the market for OCOP products and local specialties, not only for Can Tho City but also connecting to the entire Mekong Delta region.
Ms. Huynh Thi Kieu Tien, Director of Quang Dang Private Production and Trade Enterprise, said: “Not only for business purposes, we also identify opening a point of sale in a tourist area as an opportunity to reach more consumers across the country and foreign tourists. Therefore, the point of sale selects OCOP products, the most typical and quality local specialties of Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta provinces. The prices of products sold here will be the same as those currently applied at outside stores. When customers buy in large quantities, the store accepts to transport orders to all localities across the country upon request.”
The point of sale is located in the central area of Can Tho ECO Resort with an area of approximately 60m2 (2 floors). The unit also applies a 6-month free rental fee and considers the best fee for the business unit in the next phase.
