In 2020, Dak Nong Geopark was officially recognized by UNESCO as a UNESCO Global Geopark, covering an area of 4,700 square kilometers and spanning the districts of Krong No, Cu Jut, Dak Mil, Dak Song, Dak Glong, and Gia Nghia City.
The people of Krông Nô have discovered caves deep underground with many colorful rock formations.
The C7 lava cave, a tube-shaped structure over 1km long, is accessed using a unique rope ladder.
An interesting destination for tourists to explore this region.
Unique geology and formations
The cave contains many formations characteristic of volcanic eruptions, such as lava flows and sinkholes.
The structure of the cave system is a result of tectonic faulting, forming channels through which lava from deep underground penetrates and basalt erupts.
Some caves are located deep underground and can only be accessed using rope ladders.
The Nâm Kar volcanic cave (Krông Nô) is one of five volcanic craters, including: Nâm Dơng volcano, Băng Mo volcano (Cư Jút); Nâm Blang volcano, Nâm Kar volcano (Krông Nô) and Nâm Gle volcano (Đắk Mil).
