Explore the village known as "The Center of the Provisional Capital, the Heart of the Vietnamese Revolution"

Tan Lap Village (Son Duong District, Tuyen Quang Province) is known as the "Provisional Capital Center, the heart of the Vietnamese Revolution" with nearly 20 historical relics and traditional cultural features that have been passed down. The village is also where President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap lived and worked from May to August 1945.
Tan Lap Cultural Village is located in Tan Trao Tourist Area (in Tan Trao commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province).
Tan Lap Cultural Village has 182 households with 802 people, of which the Tay ethnic group accounts for over 97%, the village still retains 34 ancient stilt houses. Everyone in Tan Lap village is very proud to be born on a land rich in revolutionary traditions.
With the advantage of traditional cultural identity, historical value, natural landscape... households living in Tan Lap cultural village mainly exploit and develop types of tourism - services, especially community tourism.
Ms. Hoang Thi Nghiep, a vendor in Tan Lap village, said, “We hope that tourists will not only know that Tan Lap is a historical land but also has famous specialties such as bamboo rice, cocoon rice, tea, shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, wild honey and many medicinal herbs of ethnic minorities.”
Right next to Tan Lap cultural village is Tan Trao banyan tree - a living historical relic, on the afternoon of August 16, 1945, the Vietnam Liberation Army held a ceremony to march south, comrade Vo Nguyen Giap read Military Order No. 1 and immediately marched to Hanoi in the general uprising to seize power.
About 1km from Tan Lap cultural village is the Na Nua hut relic (also known as Na Lua hut), where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked from the end of May 1945 to August 22, 1945 to prepare and lead the August 1945 General Uprising.
Not only bearing a strong historical mark, Tan Lap village also preserves the cultural values of the Tay ethnic group in traditional stilt houses and then and coi melodies that captivate people when experiencing rowing a raft amidst the mountains and forests of Na Nua.
The relic sites in Tan Lap cultural village are also "red addresses" for students and people to visit and study.
It is known that currently, Tan Lap cultural village has more than 20 households doing community tourism.
In the village, there are two houses recognized as provincial relics in 2006. They are the stilt house of Mr. Nguyen Tien Su, where Uncle Ho lived and worked in the early days when he returned to Tan Trao from Pac Bo (Cao Bang) and the house of Mr. Hoang Trung Dan, where comrade Vo Nguyen Giap lived and worked from May to August 1945. These two houses have been preserved, restored to their original values and recreated the location where Uncle Ho and General Vo Nguyen Giap lived and worked, serving tourists.
Ms. Be Thi Chin, owner of a homestay in Tan Lap village, Tan Trao commune, Ho Hoi, shared that domestic and international tourists coming to Tan Lap can not only visit and explore historical sites of the "Provisional Capital Center, the heart of the Vietnamese revolution" but also enjoy delicious, local specialties such as bamboo rice, stream fish, wild bamboo shoots, stone crabs, five-color sticky rice...
Clean and airy stilt houses have been arranged and tidied up, ensuring conditions for tourists to rest. People in Tan Trao commune in general and Tan Lap cultural village in particular enthusiastically affirmed that they have never seen their homeland change as dramatically as today. The old revolutionary base in the near future will become a tourist, resort, historical and ecological area attracting a large number of visitors.
