While in Germany, England’s coaching staff will use the small device to monitor their players’ sleep, body temperature, stress levels and heart rate. While the Oura Ring will be a useful aid in calculating players’ recovery times, it is unlikely they will be using the devices during Euro 2024 matches.
In fact, there is no documentation that the England team requested the use of smart rings to UEFA for their players to use this device on the pitch. Besides, football regulations are quite strict in not allowing players to wear any jewelry when participating in football matches.
Speaking of the functionality of the Oura Ring, the Oura website explains that its smart ring can help athletes calculate recovery time. The brand says that the precise and continuous data can be used to prioritize rest, adjust training schedules, track recovery, and detect signs of illness, injury, or fatigue.
As of now, the Oura Ring comes in two models, Heritage and Horizon. Both are available on the brand’s website for 329 EUR and 399 EUR respectively.
