Then, from October 9 to 11, the evaluation flight of traditional VOR/DME flight methods will be conducted to further complete the flight method set serving Long Thanh International Airport.
Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam issued the PBN flight method and ILS/DME precision landing method for Long Thanh International Airport. This is an important step to ensure that aircraft can safely perform take-off and landing operations when the airport is put into operation.
In addition, flight calibration work for the approach lights system, PAPI lights and ILS/DME system at runway 1 (05L/23R) has also been completed, meeting international technical requirements.
The Ministry of Construction , together with investors and competent authorities, has focused on implementing many important items, aiming to complete the technical conditions for calibration and technical flights. All work is being implemented according to plan and in close coordination between relevant parties.
Accordingly, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has issued an Aviation Information Circular (AIC) announcing the plan to organize the first technical flight and commercial flight at Long Thanh. It is expected that on October 16, the official Aeronautical Information Circular (AIP) will be issued, serving as the basis for flight operations to serve the technical flight on December 19, 2025.
