According to the plan of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, by 2030, Khanh Hoa aims to digitize 100% of registered cultural heritages, from national tangible and intangible heritages to national relics, artifacts, and treasures. Along with that, 100% of professional staff in this field will be trained and improve their digital transformation skills.
The overall goal of the plan is to build a unified cultural heritage database system, based on digital technology . This system not only serves the storage, management, research, and preservation but also helps promote cultural values effectively, meeting the needs of the community anytime, anywhere.
Mr. Tran Duc Ha, Director of the Cultural Heritage Conservation Center of Khanh Hoa province, said that currently, the official electronic information portal at http://ditichkhanhhoa.org.vn serves as an official information channel, helping tourists and people easily access unique cultural heritages.
The interactive digital map at http://bando.ditichkhanhhoa.org.vn has created a unique experience. By clicking on the flag icon on the map, users can listen to automatic commentary in two languages (Vietnamese and English) about 16 National Monuments and Special National Monuments (formerly Khanh Hoa province), helping to explore the heritage in a visual and vivid way.
In addition, QR codes have been installed at some relics in the province to introduce information about these locations. People and tourists only need to use a smartphone with an Internet connection to scan the QR code to be able to view the necessary information without needing an introduction as before.
Grasping the technology trend, the Center for Cultural Heritage Conservation has pioneered the deployment of VR360 virtual reality technology at Po Nagar Tower Relic. With the link https://vr360.com.vn/projects/ponagar-nhatrang/, visitors can visit and explore the space of Po Nagar Tower in a vivid and realistic way, overcoming the limits of space and time.
The digitization of management records of ranked relics in Khanh Hoa province has brought high efficiency in archiving, managing and exploiting information. Currently, the Center for Cultural Heritage Conservation is continuing to update the software to digitize the ranking records of relics of Nam Khanh Hoa (former Ninh Thuan province) and will expand this work to all relics in the province in the near future.
These efforts not only help conservation work to be carried out scientifically and effectively, but also open up opportunities to promote Khanh Hoa's cultural heritage to domestic and foreign tourists in a more widespread and modern way.
Khanh Hoa is proud to be a treasure trove of rich cultural heritage, especially after the merger of the two provinces of Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa (old). The province currently owns 257 ranked cultural heritages, including: 3 intangible heritages recognized by UNESCO: Southern amateur music, Central region's Bai Choi art and traditional pottery art of the Cham people.
3 special national monuments including: Po Nagar Tower, Po Klong Garai Tower and Hoa Lai Tower. 33 national monuments, including valuable national treasures such as: Khanh Son Lithophone Collection, Hoa Lai Stele and Statue of King Po Klong Garai.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, emphasized that digitalization is an inevitable direction to spread these cultural and historical values, attracting tourists in the context of modern tourism. Digital transformation has changed the traditional approach, making heritage information more accessible, overcoming the limitations of old introduction methods.
With strong investment in digital transformation, Khanh Hoa is opening a new era for the Culture and Tourism industry, turning cultural heritage into vivid experiences, attracting domestic and foreign tourists.
