Khanh Hoa province has proposed building 28 resettlement areas for the high-speed railway project.
The North-South high-speed railway project through Khanh Hoa province starts from Dai Lanh commune (bordering Dak Lak ) to Phuoc Ha commune (bordering Lam Dong). The route passes through 29 communes and wards, affecting more than 5,465 households and 36 organizations, including 3 schools. It is expected that 1,680 households will have to relocate and find new housing.
To ensure a stable life for the people, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province has proposed to build 28 resettlement areas with a total area of over 61.2 hectares, with a total cost of about 1,142 billion VND. Of these, 13 areas currently have ready land funds and 15 areas need to be newly built or expanded.
Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam said that preparing resettlement areas is a key task to ensure site clearance progress and project construction according to the Government's plan.
The entire route is divided into 3 areas to implement resettlement work synchronously. In the North of Khanh Hoa, the section is about 66 km long, passing through 10 communes and wards. The province plans to invest in 3 resettlement areas to serve new accommodation for about 230 households. In the central area, 64 km long, there will be 7 new resettlement areas, accommodating about 525 households. In the South of the province, the section is 61 km long with 5 large resettlement areas, serving about 707 households.
To ensure progress and effective coordination, the province has assigned specific tasks to three key project management boards. Each unit is responsible for a section of the route, from surveying, preparing documents to implementing compensation, building resettlement infrastructure and relocating residents.
According to the plan, the construction of resettlement areas will take place from March to December 2026; compensation, support and resettlement will be carried out from June 2026 to June 2028.
Khanh Hoa province has registered with the Ministry of Construction to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of Cam Thinh Dong resettlement area (in Nam Cam Ranh commune) on August 19.
