Khanh Hoa will issue a set of Green Tourism Standards.

On the morning of April 9, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the development of the Green Tourism Standards in the province (sponsored by Vingroup). Attending were leaders of departments, branches and localities in the province.

According to the draft Green Tourism Standards of Khanh Hoa province presented by the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH-TT-DL), this set of standards includes green tourism standards for tourist facilities with 102 indicators and green tourism standards for tourist attractions with 100 indicators related to issues of: Greenhouse gas emissions; carbon emissions; energy consumption and efficiency; resource use, environmental conservation and biodiversity; waste management and recycling; training and protection of workers' rights; support for local community development; procurement policies and support for local suppliers...

At the meeting, delegates discussed the scope and subjects of application; assessment and certification process; validity of the certificate of meeting green tourism standards for accommodation establishments and tourist attractions; specific incentive policies for accommodation establishments and tourist attractions participating in the application of the set of standards to encourage the business community to participate in implementation...

To effectively implement the Green Tourism Criteria, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association and related departments and branches will strengthen propaganda so that businesses can promote green tourism and register for green tourism standards. In the short term, the Provincial People's Committee will undertake the assessment of facilities and destinations that meet green tourism standards, and in the long term, the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association will undertake this task.
