Ms. Cao Thi Thiet’s family is near-poor and has extremely difficult circumstances. Her husband died early, so Ms. Thiet lives with her eldest daughter who has a mental illness, while she herself is old, often sick, and unable to work. Both mother and daughter are social welfare beneficiaries, and the family’s economic conditions are difficult, so they have to live in a dilapidated house that has been in disrepair for many years.
Through a survey of the housing conditions of Ms. Thiet's family, departments, branches and organizations from the province to the grassroots level have provided financial support for Ms. Thiet's family to build a solidarity house.
After more than 1 month of construction, the house was completed and put into use.
The house has an area of 50 square meters with a total value of 274 million VND, of which the support source from the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee is 60 million VND, the District Fatherland Front Committee is 60 million VND, the Commune Fatherland Front Committee is 4 million VND and dozens of working days of the people of An Tho village.
The activity of handing over solidarity houses in Vinh Tuong district demonstrates the spirit of solidarity, care and concern of all levels, sectors, local Party committees and authorities for families in difficult circumstances. Thereby, it aims to encourage and help families stabilize their lives, work and produce with peace of mind, and escape poverty.
