Inauguration and handover of houses to people affected by flash floods and landslides

Heavy damage caused by floods in late July and early August in the communes of Huoi Mot, Chieng So, Bo Sinh, Muong Lam, Bo Sinh, Muong Lan, Sop Cop, killed 6 people, affected and swept away 318 houses; many traffic routes were eroded and damaged. Implementing the Prime Minister's Conclusion and the direction of the Ministry of National Defense , Military Region 2 coordinated with Son La province to deploy a program to support the construction and repair of houses for people in disaster areas, with a budget of 46 billion VND allocated by the Central Relief Mobilization Committee.

Since August 8, Division 316 - Military Region 2, the Provincial Military Command together with the militia, police, unions and people of the communes have deployed 22,915 working days to complete the task of building 52 new houses, relocating 205 houses, and repairing 61 houses assigned by the Military Region Command, Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee. By September 25, the forces had completed the task of handing over to the people, achieving 100% of the plan.

That work demonstrates the responsibility and affection of the army towards the people.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, thanked the close leadership and direction of the Party, the State, the Ministry of National Defense, and Military Region 2; the effective coordination of departments, branches, agencies, and units, and the joint efforts of local Party committees and authorities. At the same time, he hoped that people would continue to promote the spirit of self-reliance and strive to develop the economy .

Awarding certificates of merit from Military Region 2 and the Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in flood prevention and overcoming consequences.

In recognition of outstanding achievements in flood prevention and overcoming, the Minister of National Defense awarded certificates of merit to 2 groups and 4 individuals; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 18 groups and 26 individuals.

Leaders of Military Region 2 and the Provincial People's Committee cut the ribbon to inaugurate and hand over houses to people in Dua village, Chieng So commune.
