Inauguration of Dong Thap Provincial General Hospital with 700 beds

On the afternoon of June 16, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province held the inauguration ceremony and officially put into operation Dong Thap General Hospital.

The Dong Thap Provincial General Hospital project was approved by the Prime Minister in 2017 with a budget of over VND 1,724 billion, from government bond capital and local counterpart capital. The hospital was built to national standards, including 2 main buildings, a 4-storey block and a 10-storey block, with a scale of 700 modern beds.

After more than 4 years of construction, to July 2022, the project will be completed and the departments and rooms will be relocated to put phase 1 into operation in September 2022.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Viet, Deputy Director of Dong Thap General Hospital, said that since its operation, the hospital has received the trust of the people. On average, the hospital examines and treats 2,700 patients per day, an increase of 400 patients compared to when it was operating at the old hospital. In the near future, the hospital will continue to put into operation specialized and modern equipment and machinery to better meet the needs of patient treatment.

At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Pham Thien Nghia, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, said that Dong Thap General Hospital is a project that carries the expectations of many generations of provincial leaders for a strong change in the work of examination, treatment and health care for the people. The hospital's official inauguration is not only an expansion of space and an increase in the number of beds, but more importantly, it improves the scope of operations, expands treatment areas, meets the requirements for examination and specialized treatment, creates conditions for people in the province to access modern medical services, and reduces the number of seriously ill patients who have to be transferred to higher levels. Save patients time and money.

With a new, spacious facility and modern equipment, the Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee requested the hospital to gradually professionalize hospital management work towards high standards and quality; taking patients as the center, helping people to receive modern and best health care services in the province.
