Technical survey of the Project for Development of waterway and logistics corridors in Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh and Dong Nai provinces

The Maritime and Waterway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) has just sent a notice to the People's Committees of Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh and Dong Nai provinces on the implementation of package CS-1: Consulting on survey, technical design and bidding documents under the Southern Waterway and Logistics Corridor Development Project (SWCLD Project).

The Maritime and Waterway Project Management Board ( Ministry of Construction ) has just sent a notice to the People's Committees of Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh and Dong Nai provinces on the implementation of package CS-1: Consulting on survey, technical design and bidding documents under the Southern Waterway and Logistics Corridor Development Project (SWCLD Project).

The investment scope is the bottlenecks on the East-West corridor through Hau River, Tra On River, Mang Thit River, Co Chien River, Cho Lach Canal, Tien River... (illustrative photo: A section of Tien River through Cho Lach Commune).

The project belongs to the group of level II transport works funded by the World Bank. The objective of the project is to improve the infrastructure system, reduce congestion, accidents, and reduce the cost of transporting goods by waterway through the renovation and upgrading of the East-West transport corridor connecting the Mekong Delta region and the renovation of the North-South transport corridor connecting the Southeast region with the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port cluster. Thereby, contributing to the economic and social development, ensuring national defense and security in the Mekong Delta and Southeast localities.

The investment scope is the bottlenecks on the East-West corridor through Hau River, Tra On River, Mang Thit River, Co Chien River, Cho Lach Canal, Tien River, Ky Hon Canal, Cho Gao Canal, La Canal, Vam Co River, Nuoc Man Canal, Can Giuoc River, Soai Rap River.

Congestion points on the North-South corridor through Dong Nai River (Dong Nai Port), Nha Be River, Long Tau River, Dong Tranh River, Tac Cua River, Go Gia, Thi Vai (Cai Mep-Thi Vai port cluster).
