Science and technology are the driving force behind Can Tho city's breakthrough development.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

Attending the opening ceremony were Central Committee members: Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Le Quang Tung, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee; leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology ; leaders of Can Tho city and the Mekong Delta provinces; research institutes, universities, and technology corporations and innovative startups.

With the theme "Can Tho - A Center for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation," CASTID 2025 is a concrete implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo . The event not only creates a breakthrough in the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, attracting cooperation and investment for innovative startups, but also affirms Can Tho's role as a key link and driving force in the Mekong Delta region.

Over the course of five days, the event featured a series of 20 in-depth activities, attracting thousands of attendees.

Activities include: the Mekong Delta Sustainable Development Forum, vision to 2045; the Innovation and Creativity Forum - Can Tho, a livable city; and a technology showcase program with a dedicated stage for innovative startups and new product presentations.

Central and Can Tho city leaders performed the opening ceremony of CASTID 2025.

In addition, the event also includes specialized scientific seminars on artificial intelligence (AI); the development of high-quality scientific and technological human resources; and exhibitions and demonstrations of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, featuring over 500 technology products.

Through this event, Can Tho city aims to create an open ecosystem where innovative startups have the opportunity to connect directly with investment funds and large corporations; a place to share knowledge, collaborate, and create breakthrough solutions to bring Can Tho city closer to its goal of becoming a driving force for science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the region and the nation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized: "For Can Tho, the central city of the Mekong Delta region, choosing a development path based on knowledge, technology, and innovation is not only an inevitable trend, but also a strategic choice with decisive significance in expanding development space, improving the quality of growth, and affirming its role as the leading engine and driving force of the entire region."

In the coming period, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department will continue to coordinate with the Can Tho City Party Committee in researching, exchanging theoretical knowledge, and summarizing practical experiences; organizing seminars and scientific forums to further clarify the role, models, and solutions for developing Can Tho into a center of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the region. This will contribute to creating social consensus, inspiring a desire to contribute, and effectively mobilizing intellectual resources for development.
