Construction begins on nearly 300 HUD - Phu My social housing units in Quang Ngai.

On December 16th, the Housing and Urban Development Investment Corporation (HUD) held a groundbreaking ceremony for phase 1 of the HUD - Phu My social housing project, located in the Phu My New Urban Area in Cam Thanh ward and An Phu commune, Quang Ngai province.

Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dinh Thi Hong Minh; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Cao Phuc, along with representatives of the local Party committee, government, and people.

Entrusted with the task by Quang Ngai province, HUD Corporation has invested in the construction of the Phu My New Urban Area, covering approximately 123 hectares in Cam Thanh ward and An Phu commune. The project features comprehensively developed technical infrastructure, public facilities, green spaces, and housing, gradually forming a model urban area with full amenities such as a central park, lake, residential areas, commercial areas, educational facilities , sports facilities, and social housing.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh delivered a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the project.

Modern infrastructure, a 50-meter-wide central street, and various service areas and social facilities have created a harmonious urban space, linking economic development with ensuring social welfare, contributing to enhancing the urban landscape of Quang Ngai.

Specifically, the HUD – Phu My social housing complex is built on an area of ​​over 1.55 hectares, comprising two 9-story buildings with a total floor area of ​​approximately 29,000 m², providing nearly 300 apartments ranging in size from 58–70 m², meeting the housing needs of people in the urban area.

The HUD – Phu My Social Housing Project is planned with a modern design, optimizing space, natural light, and ventilation, with quality comparable to commercial housing. The apartments benefit from a comprehensive system of amenities such as parking, playgrounds, green spaces, swimming pools, and a closed management and security system, ensuring a safe and civilized living environment.

The project has a total investment of 310 billion VND and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028. Upon completion, the project will meet the housing needs of more than 700 people, especially low-income individuals, workers, and laborers.

The Housing and Urban Development Investment Corporation donated 300 million VND to support people affected by floods in Quang Ngai province.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh highly appreciated Quang Ngai province's support and facilitation of social housing projects for investors. He emphasized that with its large area, population of over 2.1 million people, and abundant workforce, the province's need for social housing is increasingly urgent; therefore, the Ministry of Construction requested the province to continue facilitating investors and strive to achieve the target of 8,500 social housing units by 2030.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang highly appreciated the role, responsibility, and strategic vision of HUD Corporation in accompanying the locality, contributing to ensuring social welfare and sustainable urban development. The provincial leaders committed to creating favorable conditions for the investor to implement the project on schedule, efficiently, and transparently, and expressed their hope that the project would become a model, improving the quality of life and promoting local socio-economic development.
