If his father sacrificed his life for independence, today's youth are reviving the spirit of Independence Day with practical actions. One of the typical faces is Nguyen Van Luan, born in 1988, Quynh An commune. Once a shipyard worker far from home, in 2010, he decided to return home to start a business in agriculture. From purchasing rice, in 2015, he boldly invested in a rice drying system, solving the difficult problem for farmers. In 2018, Duy Nguyen Investment and Trading Company Limited was established with an initial capital of 15 billion VND, aiming to build a closed rice production chain. Currently, his company purchases over 10,000 tons of rice/year, linking with more than 300 farming households in localities with a total area of 1,500 hectares. His rice brand has achieved 3-star OCOP, contributing to raising the level of hometown products. Mr. Luan is one of two young people from Thai Binh province who previously received the national Luong Dinh Cua Award in 2024. Sharing about his future journey, Mr. Luan said: The company aims to focus on sustainable agricultural development, towards clean agriculture and organic agriculture; especially focusing on building and expanding raw material areas for production in the direction of linking, accumulating land, creating sustainable links with farmers. I always think that our ancestors shed blood to gain freedom, we young people must continue to preserve and enrich our homeland. For me, starting a business from agriculture is not only for economic development, but also to affirm that the spirit of Independence Day is still burning in the hearts of the young generation.
That spirit is not only present in the entrepreneurial journey of young people like Mr. Luan, but also spreads strongly in every youth activity in all localities. These days, the Independence Day atmosphere in Nguyen Van Linh commune is filled with youthful colors. Youth union members in villages simultaneously launched a general environmental cleaning campaign, mobilizing people to hang the national flag, making the red color of the national festival brighter. In addition, hundreds of youth union members, regardless of day or night, went to each family to guide and support people in performing online public services, contributing to spreading the spirit of "wherever needed, there are youth, wherever difficult, there are youth". In addition, the commune Youth Union organized sports activities to create a vibrant competitive atmosphere among youth union members. Ms. Phan Thi Quyen, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Secretary of the Youth Union of Nguyen Van Linh commune shared: Independence Day September 2 is not only a source of pride but also an opportunity for us young people to demonstrate our responsibility and dedication. Every activity is a way for young people to contribute to making our homeland more radiant. We are always eager to contribute our small efforts to make the atmosphere of the national festival more bustling and meaningful.
All the streets and countryside roads in Hung Yen are filled with red flags with yellow stars. The national flags are flying from all the streets to the countryside, creating a bustling and joyful atmosphere of Independence Day. In that joy, Nguyen Quynh Chi, Vu Thu commune, confided: September 2nd is very special to me. Walking on the street and seeing the bright red flags with yellow stars, my heart is filled with pride. I tell myself to try to study and practice more to contribute to my homeland and country in the future. Nguyen Thao Ly, Pho Hien ward, expressed: I am very excited to participate in activities with the youth union on September 2nd. For me, Independence Day is not only a great national festival but also an opportunity for our young generation to live in an atmosphere of pride, to see our responsibility to the Fatherland.
Today's young generation was born and grew up when the country was at peace, but national pride is like a source that permeates deeply and flows forever in the soul of every young person. In every action, we must always be aware of putting our responsibility to the Fatherland first, ready to bring our enthusiasm, youth, and creativity to serve the country and the people.
