Following the same trend as the previous 5 sessions, VN-Index increased at the beginning of the session and lost steam at the end of the session. VN-Index opened a price gap in the first half of the morning session. However, unlike previous sessions, selling pressure appeared earlier and caused VN-Index to reverse right after the first hour of trading. Market fluctuations were somewhat negative as VN-Index fluctuated below the reference level for most of the session. Notably, VN-Index ended the session in red with the number of stocks falling significantly.
At the end of the trading session, VN-Index decreased by 6.26 points (-0.49%), down to 1,284.41 points. HNX-Index increased by 0.83 points (+0.34%), up to 246.41 points. UpCoM-Index decreased by 0.61 points (-0.61%), down to 98.95 points.
Red also dominated the banking group. A series of other banking stocks such as EIB, LPB, HDB, ACB ... were all in red. Of which, EIB decreased by 3%, LPB decreased by 2.1%, HDB decreased by 1.5%. Despite receiving high expectations from many investors, Techcombank shares did not fluctuate too positively after announcing the date to close the list of shareholders to exercise the right to distribute bonus shares at a ratio of 1:1. Accordingly, TCB increased by nearly 2% at one point but only increased slightly by 0.92% after closing the session. Along with TCB, some banking stocks such as VPB, TCB or STB also maintained green in today's session.
In the afternoon session, the securities group had positive fluctuations and somewhat helped stabilize investor sentiment, in which, VCI increased by nearly 5% thanks to some rumors about the issuance of bonus shares. The increase of VCI helped transactions in the securities group to be more positive, AGR increased by 2.9%, BSI increased by 2.9%, SHS increased by 2.7%.
In the VN30 group, VCB had the most negative impact on the VN-Index when it took away 1.11 points. At the end of the session, VCB decreased by 0.91%. VHM also had a negative trading session when it decreased by 1.9% and took away 0.8 points from the VN-Index.
On the contrary, FPT was the stock with the most positive impact on the VN-Index, contributing 0.77 points. At the end of the trading session, FPT increased by 1.7%. Tomorrow (June 12) is the trading day without the right to pay the remaining 2023 cash dividend and issue bonus shares at a ratio of 20:3. Codes such as VPB, PLX, TCB, POW... are also in the top of positive impacts on the VN-Index.
Despite its positive increase during the session, FPT was the focus of foreign net selling as foreign investors “took profit” on the shares of this technology company. Foreign investors earned VND260.5 billion from this stock alone.
