Muong Than flourishes

People come to handle administrative procedures at the Muong Than Commune Public Administration Service Center.

With the improved apparatus and effective operation of the Public Administration Service Center, 155 records were received and processed on time, contributing to strengthening people's trust in local authorities.

In early August, after just over a month of implementing the arrangement and merger of administrative units according to the Central Resolution, the atmosphere at the new Muong Than commune headquarters was bustling and vibrant with the enthusiastic working spirit of the commune's cadres and civil servants. The streets were lined with Party flags, national flags, banners, slogans promoting the activities of the two-level local government, welcoming the Party congresses at all levels and major holidays... beautifully decorated.

Muong Than Commune (new) was established on the basis of merging Phuc Than Commune and Muong Mit Commune. The commune has a natural area of 154.08 km², a population of 13,925 people, including four ethnic groups Kinh, Thai, Dao, H'Mong living in 24 villages. With its area, population and favorable geographical location, Muong Than - the gateway for inter-provincial trade - is planned as an industrial cluster of the province, and at the same time possesses the potential to develop community tourism and clean agricultural products. These advantages open up opportunities for Muong Than to grow, becoming a new highlight of Lai Chau in the period of integration and green, sustainable development.

Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Tao Van Giot commune said: After the merger, the Party Committee, the government and the entire political system of the commune have promoted the spirit of solidarity, raised their responsibilities and made efforts to overcome difficulties. The locality has proactively improved the organizational structure, issued working regulations and assigned specific tasks to each member of the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, ensuring the comprehensive leadership role of the Party Committee in all fields. At the same time, directing the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to stabilize the organization, maintain and improve the effectiveness of operations according to the motto "close to the people, practical and effective", promptly grasping the thoughts and aspirations of union members, association members and people to remove and resolve difficulties right at the grassroots level.

At the Public Administration Service Center, it is easy to see the dedicated and thoughtful service attitude of the civil servants in the reception and result delivery department. Mr. Ha Minh Kien, from Team 9, shared: “I came here to handle the procedures for certifying land transfer contracts. I found the officers and civil servants to be very responsible and enthusiastic; the procedures were handled smoothly and promptly.”

Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee and Director of the Public Administration Service Center Hoang Phi Hung said: In the beginning, although there was a lot of work and great pressure, all staff were proactive and responsible. In the digital transformation period, staff must make even greater efforts, working towards the goal of serving the people better. The "one-stop" department always listens to people to promptly resolve difficulties, ensuring work is resolved quickly, transparently and accurately. As a result, from the operation of the two-level local government until early August, the center has received 155 records in the fields of civil status, social policies, certification, land administration... and 100% of the records were processed on time.

Currently, Muong Than commune is actively preparing for the Party Congress for the term 2025-2030 and has so far completed the draft political report, the review report of the Party Committee and documents for the congress as planned; organized to collect comments on the draft documents of the congresses at all levels as directed; subcommittees for documents, propaganda and logistics have been established. The reception and settlement of petitions, complaints and denunciations before the congress are carried out in accordance with regulations.

The merger of Muong Mit and Phuc Than communes to form Muong Than commune opens up new space and opportunities for development. The Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Muong Than commune are overcoming difficulties to successfully implement the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
