At around 2:00 a.m. on March 29, the Criminal Police Department of Cam Xuyen District Police received a report that at the house of Ms. Le Thi Ho (My Son village, Cam My commune, Cam Xuyen district), an incident occurred in which Mr. Nguyen Huu Thien (born in 1985, currently residing in My Son village, Cam My commune, Cam Xuyen district) was slashed many times in the arms, legs, and abdomen by Tran Van An (born in 1986, residing in Hong Linh village, Hung Thong commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province).

After committing the crime, the suspect fled the scene. People took Mr. Thien to the Ha Tinh General Hospital for emergency treatment.

At around 5:00 a.m. on March 29, Tran Van An was discovered and arrested at Tan Phuoc motel (Nam Phong village, Cam Loc commune, Cam Xuyen district).

Through the investigation, the investigation agency determined that in 2018, Tran Van An married Ms. Nguyen Thi Ng. (born in 1987, residing in My Son village, Cam My commune, Cam Xuyen district).

During their life together, the two often had conflicts, so on March 10, 2023, An and Ms. Ng. divorced.

Since the divorce proceedings, around the beginning of 2023, An urged Ms. Ng. to send relevant documents to enroll her daughter in Hung Thong commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province, but Ms. Ng. did not send them.

Not long ago, An and Ms. Ng. had a divorce decision from the court. On March 28, An drove a motorbike with license plate 37N1-597.69 from Vinh city to Ha Tinh to find Ms. Ng.

During the trip, An used his phone to call and text Ms. Ng. but she did not respond. At around 11 p.m. the same day, An stopped at a grocery store on the Ha Tinh city bypass to drink alcohol.

At around midnight on March 29, An drove his motorbike into Ng's sister's house to look for Ng. When he stopped the motorbike, An heard Ng talking inside the house and knew she was still awake. Frustrated that Ng did not answer the phone, An opened the motorbike trunk, took out a 35cm long knife that he had bought earlier and went into Ng's bedroom.

At that time, Ms. Ng. and Mr. Nguyen Huu Thien were sleeping on the bed. An immediately used a knife to slash Mr. Thien 3, 4 times. After Ms. Ng. shouted, An ran away from the scene.

With the close direction of the Provincial Police Department, the timely, decisive and responsible intervention, and the effective coordination of relevant units, the subject Tran Van An was arrested.

Cam Xuyen district police seized 1 motorbike, 1 knife which was the weapon used to commit the crime and some related evidence.

With the collected documents and evidence, the Investigation Police Agency of Cam Xuyen District Police has decided to prosecute and temporarily detain Tran Van An for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury".

The Investigation Police Agency of Cam Xuyen District Police is continuing to coordinate with the Criminal Police Department - Ha Tinh Police to consolidate the case file to handle the subject according to the provisions of law.
