Regarding the project "Statue of Mother Goddess Au Co" on Nha Trang beach, which has attracted the attention of many local people, on June 28, Mr. Doan Quang Huy, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Khanh Hoa province, signed document No. 3899/STC-XTDT, reporting to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province on the review results.
According to this document, HCM57 Technology Company Limited proposed to implement the project "National Mother Au Co Statue" in Cau Da Beach area, Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang City, about 200m from the beach in front of Bach Dang Park, with an area of about 20 hectares of sea surface.
After reviewing, the Department of Finance of Khanh Hoa province found that the location proposed by the investor is not consistent with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 318/QD-TTg dated March 29, 2023; the Project to adjust the Nha Trang City Master Plan to 2040 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 259/QD-TTg dated March 31, 2024 and the Project to adjust the Zoning Plan, scale 1/2000 - Residential areas of Phuoc Long, Vinh Truong, Vinh Nguyen wards, Nha Trang City approved by the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province in Decision No. 890/QD-UBND dated April 4, 2025. Therefore, this project is not eligible to carry out procedures according to legal regulations.
Previously, on June 17, HCM57 Technology Co., Ltd., headquartered at VCN TOWER Building, To Huu Street, Phuoc Hai Ward, Nha Trang City, issued Document No. 21/TTr-HCM57 proposing to implement the project "National Mother Au Co Statue" 257m, the tallest in the world . The project includes a 6-star hotel, a shopping mall, and an underwater conference center. The construction site is located in Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City, in which the pedestal is 57m long with 257 steps, the statue is 200m high, from the edge to the pedestal is 110m wide and is a walking square.
To implement this project, it is necessary to level more than 20.7 hectares of Nha Trang sea surface located in Nha Trang Bay National Scenic Area and build a bridge from the "Statue of Mother Au Co" to the shore. The total investment of the project is about 1.53 billion USD, the implementation period is from 2026 to 2028.
