No more queuing for immigration procedures

This year, Department A08 has issued online passports to Vietnamese people at a rate of 98%, helping to minimize travel, especially having to queue to apply for passports like before.

On November 14, the Immigration Department (A08, Ministry of Public Security ) organized a dialogue on handling administrative procedures in the field of immigration.

The dialogue answered questions, difficulties and recommendations on the procedures and regulations currently in use as well as the service attitude of officers and soldiers in contacting, receiving and processing documents from agencies, organizations and people.

At the dialogue, the Department's leaders and representatives of functional units answered questions on topics such as passport issuance for Vietnamese citizens, ABTC issuance for Vietnamese businessmen; Policies related to electronic visas and entry and exit procedures for foreigners; Coordination with agencies, departments, and branches...

Major General Nguyen Ba Tuan, Deputy Director of the A08 Department, said that this year, the A08 Department has processed and issued passports online to Vietnamese citizens at a rate of 98%. This has helped to minimize people's travel, especially the need to queue up to apply for passports as before. These positive results are evidence of administrative procedure reform.

"In previous years, we saw scenes of people queuing up at immigration offices to apply for passports. But by 2025, this will have completely ended," said Deputy Director of A08.

Also in the past time, the Public Security of units and localities have effectively implemented policies and solutions in the management of exit and entry of Vietnamese citizens and the management of exit, entry and residence of foreigners; in which, special attention has been paid to promoting administrative reform, proposing to eliminate cumbersome administrative procedures; modernizing administrative procedures by fully exploiting the application of science , technology and information technology.

The work of organizing forces and implementing tasks to ensure aviation security has had positive changes; plans for force arrangement, organization, legal basis and inspection and handover at major airports have been developed, creating a unified foundation for management work.

The online public service system continues to be improved, new professional software and digital platforms are put into operation, contributing to improving management efficiency and serving people and businesses.

International cooperation continues to be implemented comprehensively and increasingly in-depth, contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of the Vietnamese Immigration Management force in the international arena...

During more than 2 hours of dialogue, representatives of the specialized departments of Department A08 answered many questions and concerns, and at the same time recorded and accepted them for research and handling.

With a receptive spirit, through direct dialogue, the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) receives recommendations, comments and feedback from organizations and people to continue to supplement, amend and perfect policies and mechanisms, creating the most favorable conditions for people and businesses.

At the end of the dialogue, Major General Nguyen Ba Tuan emphasized that opinions will be received, classified, and processed promptly.

From there, the authorities will consider and propose measures to simplify administrative procedures and reform administration to create favorable conditions for agencies, organizations and people./.
