According to statistics from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), 1 in 3 victims of human trafficking is a child. Children are more likely to be victims of violence during the trafficking process (twice as likely as adults).

In addition to other forms of human trafficking such as forced labor and forced criminal activity, children are also trafficked for adoption, sexual abuse and exploitation, including online.

The growth of digital platforms is increasing the danger to child users as traffickers use digital platforms, social media, and the dark web to recruit and abuse children, hidden by sophisticated technologies.

Preventing and combating human trafficking is always a regular and urgent task of the Vietnamese Government . With comprehensive and comprehensive solutions, the work of preventing and combating human trafficking in Vietnam has been effectively enhanced in areas such as: preventing human trafficking through implementing poverty reduction programs, vocational training, job creation, gender equality, child protection; fighting and combating human trafficking crimes, promptly clarifying the causes and conditions that give rise to crimes; perfecting policies and laws; promoting the detection, identification and support of victims of human trafficking; enhancing inter-sectoral coordination and international cooperation in preventing and combating human trafficking, etc.

To join hands in preventing and combating human trafficking, especially children, let's raise awareness and understanding of the tricks of human trafficking criminals, the risks of trafficking for children, and participate in educating and reminding those around us to comply with the provisions of the law on preventing and combating human trafficking, trafficking of people under 16 years old, including the form of human trafficking for the purpose of forcing them to commit illegal acts that is currently prevalent.

If you suspect yourself or someone else, especially a child, of being trafficked, please immediately contact the authorities (Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, nearest local police...), Citizen Protection Hotline +84 981 84 84 84 or ask a relative to contact the hotline for timely assistance.
