According to local reports, by June 6, the whole province had built 2,174/2,218 houses for people with meritorious services, poor and near-poor households, and households affected by Agent Orange/dioxin.

Of the total 2,174 houses that have started construction (reaching 98% of the plan), 1,392 are newly built; 782 houses are renovated and repaired. The total number of completed houses is 1,872, of which 1,228 are newly built; 644 houses are renovated and repaired.

Up to now, most localities have completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households according to the program launched by the Prime Minister . The remaining houses are mainly for families of meritorious people and households affected by Agent Orange/dioxin, which have recently been adjusted and supplemented by the province.

According to the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses has recently become a comprehensive movement, considered a bright spot in sustainable poverty reduction. Localities have been flexible in implementation, in which Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and socio -political organizations have focused on promoting information and propaganda work to create consensus in society, especially in mobilizing financial resources and human resources to support with the spirit: whoever has something helps, whoever has little helps little, whoever has a lot helps a lot, whoever has property helps property, whoever has money helps money, whoever has merit helps merit... so that households have enough conditions to build houses. Members of the steering committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses closely follow the assigned tasks, regularly review and urge sectors and localities to implement.

According to the assessment of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, up to this point, the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services, poor and near-poor households and families affected by Agent Orange/dioxin in the province has ensured the right subjects, the construction of houses ensures quality, on schedule, and prevents loss and negativity.
