(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Since the beginning of the year, the Customs Sub-department of Region X has resolutely implemented solutions to improve the efficiency of import and export tax management, ensuring accurate and complete collection. At the same time, it has promptly resolved obstacles and difficulties arising during customs procedures, creating maximum convenience for the production and business activities of enterprises in its jurisdiction.

According to Mr. Le Xuan Cuong, Deputy Head of the Customs Sub-Department of Region X, in fulfilling its assigned functions and tasks, the unit has focused on promoting administrative procedure reform and customs modernization, coupled with the implementation of digital transformation initiatives to meet the requirements of building a digital and smart customs system according to the Customs Department's roadmap. This includes prioritizing the effective implementation of electronic tax collection management, 24/7 customs clearance, and the simultaneous implementation of solutions to improve tax management, contributing to increased state budget revenue.

Accordingly, the Customs Sub-Department of Region X directed customs units at border gates and outside border gates to inspect, review, and monitor the centralized tax accounting system to promptly detect any arising problems and report them for guidance and resolution. They also conducted inspections, reviews, and supervision of units under the sub-department regarding the implementation of tax policies, the application of commodity codes, and import/export tax rates in accordance with the law. They proactively resolved administrative procedures and expedited customs clearance of import and export goods. Through this, they were able to promptly identify tax arrears, urge units to recover them, and prevent the accumulation of new tax debts.

Furthermore, to maximize convenience for businesses in carrying out customs procedures in general and tax obligations in particular, the Customs Sub-Department of Region X has proactively coordinated with commercial banks to collect budget revenue and provide tax guarantees electronically. This aims to improve the efficiency of state budget management, effectively apply the electronic tax payment and 24/7 customs clearance scheme, enhance cashless payments, facilitate taxpayers in fulfilling their state budget obligations quickly, shorten the time for processing tax payment documents, and avoid risks for businesses and customs authorities.

Through the synchronized and decisive implementation of solutions to facilitate trade, enhance the effectiveness of state management, combat tax evasion, and especially to build a digital and smart customs system, the Customs Sub-Department of Region X has received recognition and high praise from the business community. Recently, the unit was announced as ranking second in the Departmental and Local Competitiveness Index (DCCI) for 2024. This is the fourth consecutive year that the unit has maintained its top position in this index.

Along with tax management solutions, the Customs Sub-Department of Region X has strengthened administrative discipline and order, emphasized exemplary responsibility, and enhanced the professionalism of its officials and employees with the motto "Professional - Transparent - Effective". This includes requiring departments and officials to strictly adhere to the regulations and procedures for collecting customs duties, fees, and other revenues as prescribed by law. Simultaneously, it actively promotes and encourages businesses to open customs declarations at customs units under its jurisdiction, contributing to supplementing the unit's state budget revenue. It also intensifies patrol, control, and monitoring of key and priority goods with suspected risks regarding valuation, classification, and tax application...

Thanks to the synchronized and decisive implementation of various solutions, from the beginning of the year to May 14th, the revenue collected and remitted to the state budget by the Customs Sub-department of Region X reached 8.47 trillion VND, equivalent to 38.6% of the target set by the Prime Minister . Of this, the majority of revenue collected and remitted to the state budget within the province accounted for nearly 8.2 trillion VND. Value-added tax from imported crude oil by Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited still accounted for the largest proportion of total budget revenue in the province, exceeding 6.2 trillion VND, but decreased by 7% compared to the same period in 2024. The reason for the decrease is attributed to the fact that from the beginning of 2025 to date, the average price of crude oil reached 75 USD/barrel (a decrease of 6 USD/barrel compared to the average price in 2024), while the number of imported oil tankers decreased by 1 trip compared to the same period last year.
