The workshop is part of a series of high-quality professional activities organized by the National Key Program for Mathematics Development, to support the implementation of the generaleducation program for Mathematics.
The objective of the Workshop is to introduce basic, practical, and current issues on high school mathematics assessment and evaluation in the direction of approaching qualities and competencies; meeting the requirements of the 2018 general education mathematics program.
Mathematics contributes to the formation and development of key qualities for students.
According to experts, Mathematics has more and more applications in life. Basic mathematical knowledge and skills have helped people solve real-life problems systematically and accurately, contributing to promoting social development.
Mathematics in high school contributes to the formation and development of key qualities, general abilities and mathematical abilities for students; develops key knowledge and skills and creates opportunities for students to experience and apply Mathematics in practice.
In addition, create connections between mathematical ideas, between mathematics and practice, between mathematics and other subjects and educational activities, especially with the subjects of Science, Natural Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology, and Informatics to implement STEM education.
Starting from the 2024-2025 school year, our country will complete the replacement of Math textbooks in general education (in the final grades of grades 5, 9 and 12), students will completely study and take exams according to the 2018 General Education Math Program.
One of the main objectives of the 2018 General Education Program in Mathematics is to form and develop students' mathematical capacity, including the following core elements: mathematical thinking and reasoning capacity; mathematical modeling capacity; mathematical problem solving capacity; mathematical communication capacity; capacity to use mathematical learning tools and means.
Students' mathematical abilities are mainly formed and developed in the process of participating in activities to recognize mathematical knowledge and skills, connecting mathematics with practice and with other scientific subjects.
One of the very important and urgent issues when teaching and learning Mathematics according to the current 2018 General Education Program is the innovation of Math assessment and testing in the direction of approaching students' qualities and abilities.
Attracted more than 500 delegates to register to attend
The workshop on assessing high school mathematics according to the quality and competency approach included 6 reports, focusing on some main contents: Report "Comparison of the content of the 2018 High School Mathematics Program (New Program) and the 2006 High School Mathematics Program (Old Program)" presented by Prof. Dr. Do Duc Thai, Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology, Hanoi National University of Education; Editor-in-Chief of the 2018 General Education Mathematics Program, Editor-in-Chief and Editor of the Math Textbook, Canh Dieu series;
