Check, handle and trace the origin of counterfeit medicine NEXIUM®40mg

The Department of Health has just issued a document requesting medical examination and treatment facilities, pharmaceutical businesses in the province and the provincial Center for Disease Control to inspect, handle and trace the origin of fake medicine NEXIUM®40mg.

Accordingly, the Department of Health assigned the Provincial Center for Disease Control to communicate and inform drug trading and usage establishments and people not to buy, sell, or use fake NEXIUM®40mg Enterik Kapli Pellet Tablet (Esomeprazole); only buy and sell drugs at legal pharmaceutical businesses; do not buy or sell drugs of unknown origin; promptly report any suspicious signs of production and trading of fake drugs or drugs of unknown origin to health agencies and relevant authorities.

NEXIUM®40mg Enterik Kapli Sellet Tablet (Esomeprazole) was found to be counterfeit.

Previously, the Drug Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Health issued an official dispatch to the Department of Health of provinces and centrally-run cities to notify about the discovery of a number of batches of suspected counterfeit drugs, including Nexium 40mg, Enterik Kapli Pellet Tablet, AstraZeneca, Batch number: 21H979, each box has 4 blisters, each blister contains 7 tablets, which are drugs not allowed to circulate, suspected to be counterfeit drugs.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam requests that the Departments of Health coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect, verify, and trace the origin of the above-mentioned products suspected of being illegally imported and circulated drugs.
