Doan Tran Buu Tai (30 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) went through many difficult stages before achieving success in connecting, training, and coaching the sport of pickleball.
Buu Tai started playing pickleball in 2023 when the number of players in the country was still quite limited. According to him, the sport is very easy to play and easy to connect with. "Easy to play means that both seniors and young people can play, it doesn't require high technical skills. Easy to connect because in a 4-a-side court, communication is very easy," Tai stated. On the other hand, with a game pace that can be both fast and slow, players can change as they please. This creates an engaging atmosphere. Deeply in love with this joyful sport, Tai invested in building a playing field. The early days were very stressful because the field was far from the city center, only operating for a few hours each day, and sometimes even a month without players. At one point, pickleball didn't receive much public favor, being labeled as a "rich man's sport." Tai researched and learned from experienced players, thereby changing the way the field was operated and building a community of players. With the help of many people, Tài was determined to promote the free court experience and boost training to spread the healthy, beneficial, and positive emotions of pickleball. This strategy helped the court attract a large number of players.

Being a sociable person, Buu Tai (wearing glasses) had no difficulty communicating and inspiring others to play pickleball.
In addition, there's the issue of specialization. Tài was a former tennis player. He devoted himself to strengthening his skills and professionalism through pickleball courses, while also proactively learning from experienced players to master both the playing style and training strategies of the sport. Tài not only trained diligently but also participated in tournaments.

According to Buu Tai, everyone has different physical conditions and abilities, so avoid overusing difficult pickleball techniques. Learn movements that suit you and apply them effectively in matches to play effectively.
Currently, pickleball is thriving, with large courts opening everywhere. From a business perspective, this might be seen as a disadvantage due to increased competition, but for players like Tài, who aims to develop the pickleball community, these are encouraging signs for this enjoyable sport. He is even more motivated to focus on training and improving himself, as well as raising the skill level of other players.
