The economies of the provinces in the Southwestern Emulation Cluster continue to grow.

In 2023, the Emulation Cluster of the Southwestern provinces implemented emulation movements with specific content and criteria. The movements closely followed political tasks and were suitable to the practical situation of the locality.

Comrade Tran Van Lau said that, imbued with the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation" and "The more difficult it is, the more we must emulate", the entire Party, government and people of the 12 provinces in the Southwest region have strived to overcome difficulties and challenges; emulated to carry out the tasks and solutions set out, successfully completing the socio -economic development goals for 2023 of each locality.

With efforts in implementing emulation movements, the economies of the provinces in the Southwestern Emulation Cluster continue to have good growth. The average growth rate of the provinces in 2023 reached 6.7%. Local budget revenue of the entire cluster reached over 98,000 billion VND, exceeding the estimate by 7.7%; total export turnover reached over 23 billion USD, up 6.97% over the same period (in 2022 it reached over 21.5 billion USD), exceeding the plan by 4.21%.

In the fields of culture and society, the set goals and tasks were met, and social security policies continued to be implemented promptly and fully. National defense and security were maintained, and social order and safety were ensured. Based on the regulations of the emulation cluster and the scoring results agreed upon by the cluster, Ca Mau and Soc Trang provinces were proposed to be awarded the Government Emulation Flag in 2023; Tien Giang and Tra Vinh provinces were proposed to be awarded certificates of merit by the Prime Minister.

Comrade Phan Van Hung congratulated the achievements that the provinces in the emulation cluster have achieved in 2023. According to comrade Phan Van Hung, in order to contribute to the implementation of the set goals and tasks, the provinces in the cluster need to synchronously implement solutions, in which promoting the extremely important role of emulation and reward work.

The leaders presented flowers to the former Cluster Leader in 2023 and the Cluster Leader and Deputy Cluster Leader in 2024.

Comrade Phan Van Hung emphasized that emulation and reward work must closely follow the Government's management theme in 2024, which is "Discipline, responsibility, proactiveness, speeding up creativity, sustainable efficiency". Continue to launch and actively implement emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister. Propaganda and replication of advanced models, typical examples, good people, good deeds. Close coordination between emulation and reward agencies and media agencies in discovering and promoting collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Pay attention to rewarding priority subjects with high impact such as: workers, scientists, officers, soldiers of the armed forces, teachers, doctors; collectives and individuals in remote areas, border areas, islands, ethnic minorities, outstanding women, disadvantaged people with the will to rise up; enterprises, entrepreneurs who are good at production and business, doing a good job in job creation, creating livelihoods for workers, actively participating in charity activities...

On this occasion, comrade Tran Van Lau presented the rotating flag to the Head of the Emulation Cluster of the Southwest provinces 2024, Long An province. On behalf of the Emulation Cluster of the Southwest provinces, comrade Huynh Van Son, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province, launched the emulation in 2024. Immediately afterwards, the provinces in the Emulation Cluster of the Southwest provinces signed the emulation covenant in 2024.
