Before the start of the Ceremony, Embassy officials, Cerro Navia District leaders and guests laid flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Ho Chi Minh Park, expressing their respect and remembrance of the leader who fought for independence and peace throughout his life.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Viet Cuong emphasized that the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday is an opportunity to review his life and career - a man devoted to national independence and always aiming to build a good and humane society.
The Ambassador also recalled the historical milestone of April 30, 1975, when the Vietnamese people realized the great wish that President Ho Chi Minh pursued throughout his life: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom."
The Embassy introduces the poetry collection Prison Diary by President Ho Chi Minh. |
At the ceremony, the Embassy introduced the book of poems Prison Diary - a work written by President Ho Chi Minh while he was imprisoned by the Kuomintang government from 1942-1943.
Ambassador Nguyen Viet Cuong shared that “Prison Diary” not only records the journey of a political prisoner, but also shows determination and optimism. Each poem expresses optimism, resilience and the desire for freedom.
Prison Diary is published in the same edition in three languages: Vietnamese, Chinese and Spanish. |
The work consists of 133 poems in Chinese characters, published in the same edition in three languages: Vietnamese, Chinese and Spanish.
Just as Chilean poet Pablo Neruda once considered President Ho Chi Minh a source of inspiration for those fighting for justice, or Gabriela Mistral - the first woman in Latin America to win the Nobel Prize for Literature - once entrusted her poetry with humanitarian aspirations, Ho Chi Minh's poetry also entrusted his faith in humanity and the future. This is where the poetry of the two peoples, Vietnam and Chile, meet.
