Up to now, the Organizing Committee is actively preparing to ensure the exam is successful, creating a good impression of Da Nang city in particular and Vietnam in general to international friends.
The International Mathematics Competition (IMC) is an annual competition held in rotation in member countries for excellent mathematics students from more than 40 countries and territories around the world .
This is one of the most prestigious international mathematics competitions for secondary school students; a useful international playground, creating opportunities for talents from many countries to compete and develop their mathematical abilities, establish an academic environment, promote creativity, and develop research.
This year, the contest was held for the first time in Da Nang city with the slogan "Connecting intelligence, spreading friendship, conquering Mathematics".
In addition to the host Vietnam, the competition will have the participation of 30 countries and territories; including 526 contestants, 181 teachers, and 100 international guests.
Contestants are students in grades 5, 6 and 7, 8 in the 2024-2025 school year.
The opening ceremony, official competition, closing ceremony and award ceremony took place at Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU).
The official exam will be held on August 16. Candidates will go through two rounds: individual and team, including argumentation and debate to achieve maximum score in Mathematics.
In addition, within the framework of the exam, there will be a seminar on teaching, examinations, and program innovation for teachers; a seminar on technology and AI for university lecturers and students; cultural exchange activities for international students and teachers between 31 countries; exchanges with secondary school students of Da Nang city and a tour and experience program.
Up to now, the Department of Education and Training has presided over and coordinated with relevant departments, branches and sectors, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology and IEG Global Joint Stock Company to organize the exam.

The 25th International Mathematics Competition - VIMC 2025 is directed by the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the Department of Education and Training, Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU) - Da Nang University and IEG Global Joint Stock Company in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Finance, Department of Foreign Affairs, City Police, City Food Safety Management Board and related agencies and units.
