50 years after the historic victory, veteran Pham Hai Trieu still cherishes each precious photo of his years as a commando soldier, living and operating in enemy territory.
He enlisted in 1963 and was trained in the Special Forces. In September 1967, he entered the Southeast battlefield and joined the Urban Commando special forces.
In April 1975, as the battalion commander of the Gia Dinh special forces battalion, the commando soldier with the code name "Bay Trieu" and his teammates received a mission from the Command Headquarters in the Ho Chi Minh campaign on April 20, 1975./.
