Lai Chau agrees to adjust the plan to arrange public service units

On the morning of June 6, the Lai Chau Provincial Party Executive Committee met and agreed to adjust the plan to reorganize the apparatus and public service units.

Specifically, the Lai Chau Party Executive Committee gave opinions on adjusting, consolidating, and merging public service units under the Provincial People's Committee, District People's Committees, and establishing new units under the Commune People's Committees.

According to the adjusted plan, 103 commune health stations and 4 existing regional polyclinics of Lai Chau will be merged into 38 health stations under the health center of the Department of Health. Lai Chau City Health Center will be reorganized with a new name, Lai Chau Health Center, retaining its current functions, tasks and staffing.

In addition, the province also dissolved the Agricultural Service Center under the City People's Committee, transferred its functions to the Agricultural Extension and Agricultural and Rural Technical Center under the Department of Agriculture and Environment; reorganized 7 district Agricultural Service Centers into 7 Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Service Stations under the Agricultural Extension and Agricultural and Rural Technical Center.

Along with that, 8 Cultural, Sports and Communication Centers of 8 districts and cities will be transferred to the People's Committees at the commune level; the Lai Chau City Urban Order Management Team will be dissolved, and the above management function will be assigned to the People's Committees of wards.

According to Lai Chau Provincial Party Secretary Giang Pao My, there are only 25 days left until the official inauguration of the new commune-level administrative unit (July 1, 2025). Party committees and authorities at all levels are required to focus on synchronously, resolutely and seriously implementing the tasks. Strengthening ideological work for cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and workers to create consensus, unity and high determination in implementing the policy of restructuring the apparatus.

It is recommended that localities proactively review and rearrange headquarters, facilities, working conditions, and accommodations for officials, ensuring living and working conditions after the reorganization. All of this is to ensure that the new commune-level administrative units operate stably, effectively, and efficiently on schedule.
