In the first two weeks of May, only the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) and the Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) reduced their deposit interest rates. This development contrasts with the enthusiastic interest rate reduction atmosphere of banks in late February and March.
According to statistics on 6-month online deposit interest rates of current banks, 5.65%/year is the highest deposit interest rate on the market, listed by GPBank and Vikki Bank.
Notably, these are also the two banks leading the market in terms of savings interest rates for terms from 6-36 months.
Specifically, the 9-month term bank interest rate at Vikki Bank is 5.95%/year, at GPBank is 5.75%/year.
The interest rate for 12-36 month term at Vikki Bank is 6%/year, while at GPBank it is 5.95%/year.
In addition, there are 16 banks listing online savings interest rates for 6-month terms from 5%/year or more, respectively: MBV (5.5%/year); BaoViet Bank (5.45%/year), ABBank, VCBNeo, VietBank (5.4%/year); Bac A Bank , NCB (5.35%/year); HDBank (5.3%/year); BVBank (5.15%/year); Eximbank, KienlongBank, LPBank, Viet A Bank (5.1%/year); MSB, OCB, PGBank (5%/year).
The remaining banks all listed interest rates below 5%/year for 6-month term deposits. Of which, Vietcombank and SCB are still the two banks listing the lowest mobilization interest rates, only 2.9%/year for 6-month term deposits.
Meanwhile, VietinBank and BIDV listed interest rates at 3.3%/year and Agribank listed 3.7%/year for 6-month deposits.
