On November 25, the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province informed that starting from 1 p.m. the same day, vehicles (except trucks) are allowed to circulate again on Prenn Pass, an important gateway to and from the center of Da Lat.
According to the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province, currently, construction units are continuing to repair and overcome landslides on the Prenn Pass; therefore, the department recommends that people and vehicles, when traveling through the Prenn Pass, should limit traveling through the route when there is heavy rain, at night, limited visibility (fog), except in necessary cases; while traveling, pay attention to observe the current status of the route to promptly handle any incidents that may occur. At the same time, proactively drive slowly, comply with traffic signs and traffic diversion plans in areas where construction and repair work is being carried out on the route.

Lam Dong Provincial Department of Construction requested the Provincial Traffic Police Department and the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward, Da Lat to support the arrangement of regular patrols, control, and ensure smooth and safe traffic during the construction and repair of Prenn Pass; Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 to organize the installation of road signaling systems in accordance with the construction and traffic flow plan on the route.


As reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, due to prolonged heavy rain, on November 17, at Km224+600 to Km224+700 on Prenn Pass, a serious landslide occurred on the negative slope of about 100m long. In the following days, many other cracks and subsidence continued to appear on the pass, posing a potential risk of major landslides. To ensure safety, Lam Dong province banned vehicles from traveling through the landslide section on Prenn Pass.

In recent days, following the direction of the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi, relevant departments and units have mobilized forces, vehicles and machinery to urgently reinforce the landslide section of the Prenn pass. After a period of urgent handling and reinforcement of the roadbed, the authorities said that the pass has met the conditions for temporary traffic.
On the same day, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai inspected the two passes of Prenn and Mimosa and chaired a meeting to assess the situation and find solutions to improve traffic infrastructure in the province.

At Mimosa Pass, where landslides are occurring, comrade Nguyen Hong Hai requested Project Management Board 85 ( Ministry of Construction ) to urgently complete barriers, signs and safety measures before temporarily opening the road to traffic, scheduled for November 28.
According to Project Management Board 85, after the temporary route is opened, the project will move to phase 2, with the construction of a 9m wide overpass, expected to start before December 10, with a construction period of 3 to 4 months.
