On the evening of November 18, at Tay Ho Cultural and Creative Space, the People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Hanoi organized the program of Hanoi National Great Unity Day 2023 - Celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - 20 years of organizing the National Great Unity Day.

Delivering a speech commemorating the 93rd anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong said: On November 18, 1930, the Central Party Standing Committee issued a Directive on the establishment of the Anti-Imperialist Alliance - the first organizational form of the Vietnam National United Front.

Through the process of formation and development, with different organizational forms and names, the Vietnam National United Front, now the Vietnam Fatherland Front, has always fulfilled its mission, contributing to the great cause of the Party and the nation.

In Hanoi, after the city expanded its administrative boundaries, in the new space, the Hanoi Fatherland Front has absorbed rich traditional resources, diverse material and spiritual resources, seized new opportunities and challenges, and actively and effectively participated in the construction and development of the capital.

With its innovative and creative approach, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi has promoted its role and responsibility in the political system and social life, playing a good role as a strong "bridge" between the Party Committee, the government and all classes of people...

“Looking back at the glorious history of the Vietnam Fatherland Front over the past 93 years, reviewing the great victories that our people have achieved under the leadership of the Party, remembering the merits and boundless sacrifices of previous generations, we cherish the past, cherish and preserve the revolutionary achievements, the achievements in the country's renovation cause, and are even more grateful for the immense merits of our beloved President Ho Chi Minh, the heroic martyrs, and families with revolutionary contributions. We understand, trust and are proud of the Vietnamese people, a united, heroic, intelligent and creative people" - the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi emphasized.

Launching a special emulation campaign to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital and the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong clearly stated 5 important tasks. In particular, the City will promote propaganda and mobilization of the people, innovate working methods, focus on the grassroots, and diversify forms of gathering people from all walks of life.

Improve the quality of campaigns, emulation movements, and campaigns; promote the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in listening to and absorbing people's opinions, proactively advising Party committees, and coordinating with the government in resolving people's legitimate rights and interests; promote supervision, social criticism, fight against corruption and waste, practice democracy, enforce discipline, and build a clean and strong Party and government.

Along with that, the City improves the effectiveness of propaganda work, mobilizes solidarity, and cares for people of all ethnic groups and religions; at the same time, further promotes emulation movements in the overseas Vietnamese community... Focus on consolidating the organization and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front system at all levels; emulate each Vietnam Fatherland Front unit at district and commune levels to have at least 1 project, work, or task demonstrating innovation and creativity in implementing tasks...

In the immediate future, the City will focus on preparing conditions for the successful organization of the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi, towards the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029.

Speaking in response to the emulation movement, Mr. Tran Quang Dao, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tay Ho District, said that he will strengthen communication, mobilization, and gathering of all classes of people; pay attention to and promote the role of representing the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people in the new period... The Tay Ho District Front will increase the responsibility for practical and effective projects of the Fatherland Front and its member organizations, the Front's working committees to build wards that meet civilized urban standards; creative models to build "Model urban civilized alleys and streets, ensuring fire safety and security", "Cadres and civil servants strictly implement discipline, discipline and responsibility to solve work serving the people without appointment"...

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front awarded the Medal "For the Cause of Great National Unity" to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the cause of Great National Unity, of which Hanoi City had 425 individuals.

At the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded the Medal "For the Cause of Great National Unity" to 8 leaders of Party Committees, authorities, and Fatherland Fronts of districts, towns, and cities; Hanoi People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 30 collectives with exemplary models in implementing patriotic emulation movements and campaigns in Hanoi in 2023.

Also at the festival, 1,200 non-professional actors from 8 wards (Xuan La, Buoi, Phu Thuong, Yen Phu, Thuy Khue, Quang An, Tu Lien, Nhat Tan), civil servants, armed forces, and Tay Ho District Youth Union performed “Dance of Solidarity” - a work calling for national solidarity composed by Comrade Tong Thi Phong, former Politburo member and former Permanent Vice President of the National Assembly.
