Last night, Barcelona drew 3-3 with Club Brugge in the 4th round of the Champions League group stage in Belgium. Yamal scored a wonderful goal. The 18-year-old player coordinated with Fermin Lopez, before finishing very delicately into the Club Brugge net.

When asked to compare his talent with Messi after this beautiful goal, Yamal humbly replied: “Messi has scored thousands of goals like that, so I can’t compare myself to him. I just want to continue to improve and go on my own path. Hopefully there will be more goals like that in the future.”
Yamal admitted the team has a lot to improve after the draw with Club Brugge: “We are Barcelona and we always have to aim for victory. Now the team is focused on the next match in La Liga. It is a very difficult field. It is not easy to win when you concede three goals. That is what we need to improve.”
Speaking about his goal, Yamal said: “I tried to do my best. The ball happened very quickly, Fermin Lopez backheeled the ball to me and I just had to finish. However, I still regret that we could not get all three points. Hopefully next time will be better.”

Yamal also dismissed rumours of injury and recent mental decline: “There are rumours that I have pubalgia (a chronic groin injury) or depression, all of which are lies. I am just focused on getting back in shape, playing the football that I love and feel most comfortable with.”
After a draw against Club Brugge, Barcelona will return to their home stadium to host Celta Vigo before La Liga takes a break for international fixtures in November. Yamal is expected to be called up to the Spain squad for two 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Türkiye.
