A recent incident occurred in Hung Dao village, Quang Oai commune, when a couple brought gold rings to sell. The victim paid 282 million VND, equivalent to two real gold bars, but after checking again, discovered that they had bought fake gold.

Hanoi police advise people and gold shops to be vigilant and avoid buying fake gold from people of unknown origin. Only transact at reputable businesses with clear documents.

In addition, gold shops should use modern testing equipment instead of relying on manual experience or gold testing pens of unknown origin. When suspecting the purchase of fake gold, people should quickly report to the police for timely support and handling.
