For the first time, the LAAN Ultra Trail has a 160km ultra marathon distance.

The organizers of the LAAN Ultra Trail 2024 race in Lam Dong province informed that for the first time, the race was licensed by the authorities for a distance of 160km. This is a tough but very attractive ultra marathon distance, crossing many types of terrain of the Langbiang plateau.

On the morning of November 22, at LAAN resort, Lac Duong district, Lam Dong province, domestic and international athletes officially entered the 160km event, the longest distance of the LAAN Ultra Trail 2024 trail race, organized by the People's Committee of Da Lat city and Lac Duong district in coordination with Lam An Joint Stock Company, Lac Duong district, in response to the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival - 2024.

Representative of the Organizing Committee, Director of Lam An Joint Stock Company Nguyen Thanh Viet informed that for the first time, the LAAN Ultra Trail 2024 race was licensed by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong for a 160km trail run. This is the first time the ultra marathon distance has appeared on the trail runs in the southern region.

“The 160km distance is very tough but also very attractive, athletes cross the terrain and beautiful mountain scenery on the Langbiang plateau. The time for this distance is 45 hours. The distance is classified as 6 points by ITRA, in the ITRA national championship rankings and 100M ranking by UTMB Index - the world's prestigious scoring system", said Mr. Viet.

This is the 6th time LAAN Ultra Trail has organized a trail race in Lam Dong province. LAAN Ultra Trail 2024 attracted more than 2,600 athletes from many localities across the country, such as Da Lat city, Ho Chi Minh city, Hanoi, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau... and countries such as France, Italy, Russia, Japan, Thailand, China, Singapore... to register to participate.

The athletes officially entered the competition at a distance of 160km.

Athletes conquered and experienced picturesque running routes, with distances of 3km-10km-20km-35km-55km-100km and 160km, through Da Lat city and the districts of Lac Duong, Lam Ha, Dam Rong, Bidoup-Nui Ba National Park and LAAN Resort. The organizing committee awarded medals according to age and distance of the running routes.

This is the second year that LAAN Ultra Trail continues to improve its quality and professionalism, by cooperating with Running Connect - a partner with many years of experience in organizing professional trail running races in Thailand and other Asian countries. This combination raises the quality of LAAN Ultra Trail from regional to international level.

This is also the first time that LAAN Ultra Trail is organized as a Sports Festival combining culture and cuisine, with a Trail running village model and interesting activities from introducing Vietnamese culture and cuisine in general, Da Lat specialties in particular, from famous chefs in the culinary world, along with sports-related activities, self-rewarding at the finish line, to have more connection in the exchange activities between athletes.

LAAN Ultra Trail 2024 promises to bring athletes an unforgettable experience, with beautiful running routes on the Langbiang plateau.

The organizers expect that the LAAN Ultra Trail 2024 will bring a meaningful and highly professional playground in Vietnam and reach international levels. The tournament fully meets the requirements of international races , especially being recognized by the prestigious UTMB Index (Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc) scoring system, allowing athletes to qualify to participate in ultra-long-distance races around the world.

LAAN Ultra Trail 2024 takes place until November 24, promising to bring athletes an unforgettable experience, with a beautiful pure trail running course.
