First time organizing Vietnam Advertising Festival in Binh Duong province

The first Vietnam Advertising Festival will take place from July 11-13 in Binh Duong province with a series of activities introducing and promoting the potential, strengths, and importance of advertising in particular and the Vietnamese cultural industry in general.

The event is organized by the Vietnam Advertising Association with the highlight being the Vietnam Advertising and Communications Forum 2024.

In addition, there are also the Vietnam Cultural Industries Exhibition (Vietnam Cultural Show 2024), the 14th Vietnam International Advertising Equipment and Technology Exhibition (VietAd 2024-Binh Duong), the Vietnam Entertainment Equipment and Technology International Exhibition (Vietnam Entertainment Show 2024)...

These activities create opportunities for the business community to promote their strengths in advertising, architecture, entertainment technology, performing arts, cultural tourism , etc.

The series of activities also includes a workshop on the current situation and potential for development of the cultural industry, a photo contest with the theme "Vietnam - world rendezvous," a career orientation day and a series of related seminars...

Advertising is one of the 12 key areas of the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Cultural Industry to 2020, with a vision to 2030. Up to now, advertising activities have developed strongly, increasing in quantity, quality, revenue, contributing to the business of goods and services, connecting producers, businesses and consumers.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the period of 2018-2022, the production value of the advertising sector tends to increase every year, an average increase of 6.28%/year; the average added value increases by 6.31%/year.

In 2022, advertising revenue will reach about 2.192 billion USD, with revenue growth rate ranking 5th out of 11 ASEAN countries and 2nd out of 11 countries in terms of growth rate.

Currently, there are about 3,000 businesses operating in the advertising sector nationwide. The trend of developing digital technology has dramatically changed advertising activities (on social networks, via mobile devices, natural display...) in the Vietnamese advertising market. Vietnamese businesses are increasingly paying more attention and interest to promoting their brands on digital channels.

In the Strategy for the development of cultural industries to 2020, with a vision to 2030, the specific goal to 2030 is to promote interactive advertising, advertising on digital platforms and integration between types, including promoting the application of AI, IoT, Blockchain and BigData technologies.

Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Ninh Thi Thu Huong stated that the advertising industry must be an important link in the cultural industry of Vietnam. Therefore, there needs to be an intersection, connection of colors, appearances, and new vitality in combining advertising with cinema, fine arts, photography, performing arts and cultural tourism for sustainable development, successfully implementing the Cultural Development Strategy to 2030.

Chairman of the Vietnam Advertising Association Nguyen Truong Son informed that in addition to revenue, advertising is a tool to convey positive messages to the community, contributing to bringing Vietnamese culture to the world. The explosion of information technology and social networking platforms makes it easy for advertising to spread and create a big impact on user behavior.

The Government has assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to complete the Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising, ensuring clear regulations on specific conditions and requirements for types of advertising on the Internet, cross-border advertising, sanctions to prevent and remove illegal advertising, combat tax losses, ensure consumer rights.../.
