The exhibition introduces more than 300 typical photos, documents and artifacts, telling the story of the country from the 1954 Geneva Agreement when it was divided into two regions, until the country's reunification in 1975.

First exhibition of anti-American resistance war relics of two generals

At the exhibition, General Van Tien Dung's jacket attracted much attention. This is the jacket that accompanied the General on all battlefields in his role as Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

The shirt continued to be associated with the General in his daily life after the peaceful reunification of the country.

The Ho Chi Minh Museum considers the coat not only a personal artifact, but also a symbol of the simple qualities, sense of responsibility and bravery of a general who devoted his whole life to the revolution.

The exhibition also introduces to viewers the face of the watch General Le Duc Anh used during the resistance against America to save the country.

According to the General, he carried this watch with him throughout the difficult and arduous years of the resistance war against the US. The watch also witnessed with the General the historic moments, the glorious moments of victory of our army and people.

The watch was donated to the Ho Chi Minh Museum by General Le Duc Anh in 2013.

This is also the first time this artifact has been introduced at a thematic exhibition of the Ho Chi Minh Museum.

The documentary image "Historical order for the day of total victory" by General Vo Nguyen Giap is also introduced this time.

This is the secret order that on April 7, 1975, at the Campaign Command Headquarters - House D67, General Vo Nguyen Giap personally drafted and sent to the troops with the following content:

"1. Faster, faster, bolder, bolder, seize every hour and minute, rush to the front, liberate the South. Determined battle and total victory.

2. Immediate communication to party members and soldiers".

Below is a signature of Van, dated April 7, 1975. The telegram was immediately assigned to the Cipher Department for encryption and transmitted to the commanders of the troops participating in the liberation of the South.

Afterwards, the Cipher Committee immediately spread it to all fronts in the South as a "Proclamation to Soldiers" of the 20th century.

And the painting Portrait of President Ho Chi Minh drawn in blood by artist Le Duy Ung moved viewers.

In 1975, just a few days before the South was completely liberated and the country was unified, in a fierce battle at the gateway to Saigon, painter Le Duy Ung was seriously injured and lost his eyes.

In the moments of lucidity before passing out due to severe injuries, painter Le Duy Ung used blood from his eyes to paint a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh.

The Suit of a Saigon Ranger and the Mysterious American Soap Box

During the resistance war against America to save the country, besides the heroic battles on the battlefield, there was a silent but equally important front - the struggle in the heart of the Southern urban areas.

One of the typical artifacts that demonstrates the ingenuity and bravery of the soldiers operating in the heart of Saigon is the American soap box used by Ms. Le Thi Nuoi - an officer working at the secret printing house at 157 Nguyen Trai, Saigon - to transport documents everywhere.

The American soap box has the brand name "Tide XK", made from cardboard. During her time working in the distribution department at the secret printing house at 157 Nguyen Trai, Ms. Le Thi Nuoi bought new American soap boxes and took all the soap out to store the printing house's documents, and distributed them to the facilities.

During Uncle Ho's funeral, Ms. Nuoi used these boxes to issue documents such as President Ho's Will, General Secretary Le Duan's Eulogy and many other important documents.

Also on display is the suit of Mr. Bui Van Chieu, a Saigon special forces soldier.

This is the suit that Mr. Chieu used during his revolutionary activities, including the battle at the General Police Department on August 16, 1965.

On June 5, 1992, Mr. Chieu donated the suit to the Ho Chi Minh Museum.
