As a household that boldly invests and actively works in production, Mr. Ho Chu Thao's family, De Tinh 2 village (Phin Ho commune) has over 60 cattle, VAC livestock model, bringing in an income of nearly 200 million VND/year. Mr. Thao shared: "Previously, my family only raised cattle for draft purposes. However, recently, realizing that developing livestock farming brings high economic efficiency, I have invested in building solid barns for concentrated, commodity-based livestock farming, increasing economic value. Thanks to participating in livestock development training courses organized by the district Farmers' Association; taking advantage of fallow land to grow elephant grass, and regular vaccination, the livestock has developed well, bringing high economic efficiency".

Mr. Tao Van Duong, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Na Hy commune, shared: Promoting the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably", the Farmers' Association of the commune has actively promoted and mobilized farmers to compete in promoting production, transforming the structure of crops and livestock; focusing on intensive farming, increasing crops, contributing to increasing income on cultivated land area. At the same time, creating conditions for members to register for titles every year; actively training, disseminating, improving qualifications and skills for farmer members in applying science and technology to production. From the training courses, members have learned how to choose and effectively use input materials, save production costs, increase crop and livestock productivity, bringing high economic efficiency.

Currently, the Farmers' Association of Nam Po district has 5,668 members, operating in 121 village and hamlet branches. Mr. Lo Van Noi, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of the district, affirmed: The movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other eliminate hunger, reduce poverty and get rich legitimately" is truly a widespread revolutionary movement in the renovation period, attracting tens of thousands of farmers to participate, becoming an important driving force to exploit the potential and strengths of each locality and the internal strength of each family. From there, a team of dynamic, creative farmers who dare to think and dare to do has been built.

In order for the movement to go deeper and have a wide spread, in addition to diversifying propaganda forms, every year the District Farmers' Association actively mobilizes farmers to shift their economic structure towards combining agriculture - forestry - industry and services, economic development models, replicating advanced examples in production and business... At the same time, assign specific targets on the number of good farmer households in production and business to the grassroots Farmers' Association, regularly inspect the activities of the association to evaluate, learn from experience, promptly propose solutions to direct the movement that are close to reality and highly effective. Along with that, Farmers' Associations at all levels actively train, disseminate, and improve the qualifications and skills of members; Master the Party's guidelines, policies and laws on agriculture, farmers, rural areas and policies serving agricultural development for people to access (in the first 6 months of the year, the whole district opened 7 vocational training classes on raising hill chickens, pigs, construction techniques... for nearly 300 students). With flexible, creative methods, suitable to the reality of each locality in 2022, Nam Po district has 13 households achieving excellent production at the provincial level, 44 households achieving excellent production at the district level and 148 households achieving excellent production at the grassroots level. In 2023, the whole district has 243 households registered to achieve excellent production and business households at all levels.

Farmers' Associations at all levels also pay attention to supporting farmer members to borrow capital to invest in production development. They proactively advise the Party Committee and authorities at the same level to establish a Farmers' Support Fund. At the same time, they have effectively implemented the program of entrusting loans to poor households and other policy beneficiaries through the Social Policy Bank. Up to now, the total outstanding loan balance has reached over 90.2 billion VND with over 1,882 members' capital. Typical members who are good at production and business include the families of Vang A La, Nam Chim 1 village; Mua A Giang, Che Phu village (Si Pa Phin commune); Chang A Chu, Ham Xoong 1 village (Vang Dan commune)...

The movement “Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty” has been changing the way farmers think and work. From there, it ensures social security, helps them escape poverty and rise up to become rich legitimately, contributing to speeding up the progress of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and building new rural areas in the Nam Po border area.
