Vietnam out into the world
Taking place on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations, the exhibition has special spiritual value.
Sharing about the topic, Deputy Representative General of Vietnam at EXPO 2025 Tran Nhat Hoang said that this is the first time an exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh has been comprehensively introduced at an EXPO - an international, multinational, multicultural event with millions of visitors from all continents. Through images and documents about his revolutionary journey, the international public has the opportunity to better understand the ideology and personality of President Ho Chi Minh.
With a modern yet intimate approach, the exhibition recreates the image of President Ho Chi Minh through valuable documents, vivid images, documentary films and historical artifacts, from the journey of young Nguyen Tat Thanh to find a way to save the country to the image of an outstanding leader, a staunch international soldier, a clever diplomat and a great friend of progressive people around the world.
The exhibition space is not only a place to tell historical stories but also becomes a connection point between national memories and universal human values such as peace, cooperation and humanity. In the turbulent 20th century, President Ho Chi Minh was one of the few leaders who left an impression beyond national borders. His core views such as "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom" not only inspired the Vietnamese people but also lit the way for movements fighting for national independence in Asia, Africa, Latin America...
Choosing Japan, a country with a comprehensive strategic partnership, as the venue for a special exhibition on President Ho Chi Minh at an EXPO demonstrates the deep cultural companionship between the two countries. In the context of the two countries being increasingly connected politically, economically, culturally and In addition to people-to-people exchange, Japan's cooperation in organizing this event of profound cultural and historical significance is also a demonstration of mutual trust and respect.
The theme of EXPO 2025 “Designing the future society for our lives” is not only a sustainable and humane development orientation but also a global message about building a more harmonious and equitable world. In that vein, introducing Ho Chi Minh’s spiritual heritage is not only an act of historical gratitude but also a suggestion for a new development model, where culture is the foundation for social progress. Vietnam comes to EXPO not only with technological products or traditional artistic quintessence, promoting the image of a country that takes good cultural values as a foundation but also with soft values that have a strong influence such as Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and personality - a special cultural mark in the minds of international friends.
Each stop of the exhibition “President Ho Chi Minh – Symbol of Peace and Friendship” will be a connecting bridge, a place to convey the aspiration for independence and love of peace - values that run through Ho Chi Minh's ideology. The exhibition is also a way for Vietnam to strengthen its cultural identity, spread the image of a country that loves peace, actively integrates and makes positive contributions to the international community.
The international cultural integration strategy is being implemented in a synchronous and systematic manner. In addition to its regular presence at major multilateral conferences such as the World Economic Forum, the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP), the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit, etc., Vietnam also actively organizes programs such as the Vietnamese Cultural Week/Day abroad, events promoting cuisine, music, cinema, folk art, and creative product exports, etc.
These activities, along with the active participation of intellectuals, artists, and the overseas Vietnamese community, are contributing to the development of a cultural diplomacy with depth, vitality, and vision. From global cultural forums to EXPO 2025 Osaka, Vietnam is gradually affirming its position as an integrated country with cultural identity and actively spreading the values of humanity, peace, and cooperation.
