Located beside Suoi Cam Lake, amidst lush greenery and a tranquil, airy atmosphere, the Dong Nai Museum is one of the must-see destinations for visitors to the province.

Preserving and displaying many artifacts.

With meticulous planning in spatial arrangement and exhibiting, the Dong Nai Museum provides visitors with a comprehensive overview of the cultural characteristics of the ethnic groups in the area. Traditional artifacts characteristic of each ethnic group are arranged in their own unique spaces, yet share similarities, reflecting the harmony and cultural exchange between the different ethnic groups.

Mr. Nguyen Son Ha, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Museum, shared: "As indigenous people, the S'tieng ethnic group used to live mainly in remote, border areas. Their main occupation was going into the forest and farming. Therefore, their food, clothing, and tools for production relied primarily on nature and creativity in their work, production, and daily life. This is what created the unique character in the traditional culture of the S'tieng ethnic group. Baskets, machetes, bows and arrows, slings, jars, colorful brocade fabrics... all were made from natural materials, durable and beautiful over time. To date, many valuable artifacts of the S'tieng ethnic group have been collected and preserved at the museum for visitors."

To preserve, transmit, and promote the distinctive cultural values of the S'tieng ethnic group, the Dong Nai Museum regularly, continuously, comprehensively, and systematically carries out the work of searching, collecting, and preserving these artifacts. At the Dong Nai Museum, nearly 120 artifacts, including hunting and fishing tools, household items, production tools, musical instruments, etc., of the S'tieng ethnic group are being preserved, conserved, and displayed according to themes and topics, making them convenient for visitors,” said Nguyen Son Ha, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Museum.

A place for traditional education for the younger generation.

The exhibition is impressive and widely known not only for the richness and diversity of over 14,000 documents and artifacts, but also for its scientific and creative display, design, and arrangement. The combination of images with artifacts, colors, sounds, and lighting guides visitors along a captivating and easily understandable emotional path. Each artifact is scientifically arranged and disseminated through digital technology applications, helping visitors gain a deeper, faster, and more comprehensive understanding of the cultural characteristics of various ethnic groups.

Ms. Phan Thi Thu Ha (resident of Binh Phuoc ward) shared: "At the museum, each artifact is no longer simply an artifact; it's not boring or dry as many people think. Each artifact here tells a cultural story through images, shapes, and forms. Through these artifacts, visitors gain a comprehensive understanding of the life, cultural space, and production activities of the S'tieng ethnic people."

In the context of integration, the lives of the S'tieng ethnic minority have undergone many changes compared to the past. The development of technology and science has led to the gradual decline of many cultural characteristics and traditional crafts of ethnic minorities, including the S'tieng. Searching for, collecting, preserving, and safeguarding the traditional cultural characteristics of ethnic minorities in the area is an objective necessity. Because a museum is not simply a stop for visitors; it is also a slow-motion film, a place where time stands still, connecting the past and present, a practical school, a place for educating about traditions and origins for future generations.
