In Xuan Son village (Luu Vinh Son commune), Da Lat chrysanthemum is the main flower variety chosen by farmers to grow to serve the Tet market. These days, the famous flower village has become bustling, gardeners are planting flowers to prepare for the 2025 Lunar New Year market.

Mr. Bui Quang Bien (52 years old, resident of Xuan Son village) said that this year his family planted 17,000 chrysanthemums on a total area of ​​400 square meters. These days, Mr. Bien's family is busy planting flowers to serve the Tet market.

Mr. Bien's family has invested in a greenhouse, along with a lighting system to help the flowers bloom and grow well.

To ensure a beautiful flower garden, in addition to planting seeds at the right time, you must also carefully select healthy seedlings to plant and take good care of them.

These days, Mr. Ho Sy Luu (58 years old, resident of Xuan Son village) is also busy mobilizing human resources to plant flowers in time for the Tet flower season. Mr. Luu said that since around October, his family has been cleaning and sanitizing the land, applying lime for disinfection, and applying organic fertilizer to prepare for the new crop.

“This year, my family planted more than 40,000 chrysanthemums, 340 pots of chrysanthemums and 100 pots of lilies. This year, the price of seeds is quite high, and some varieties are rare, so some varieties are reduced. Up to now, the weather is good, so the plants are growing beautifully. Hopefully, by Tet, the weather will be favorable, so people will have more income from the flower industry,” said Mr. Luu.

According to flower growers, the time to plant the flowers is from the middle of the 9th lunar month and the harvest is expected to be at the end of the 12th lunar month. In previous years, the average price of chrysanthemums during Tet was about 3,000 - 4,000 VND/plant.

People use lights to illuminate the flowers at night so that the flowers grow well.

Currently, flower growers in Luu Vinh Son commune have applied care techniques, installed shading nets and lighting systems to proactively adjust the flowers to bloom in time for Tet.

Besides serving the local market, Luu Vinh Son commune is also the main supplier of Tet flowers for Ha Tinh city and neighboring areas. In recent years, the Tet chrysanthemum market has been quite stable, bringing in a good income for the people.

“To serve the Tet market, the whole commune has over 70 households producing flowers in greenhouses. The largest number is in Xuan Son village with 65 households with a total area of ​​3.5 hectares. Compared to last year, the number of households participating in growing Tet flowers has increased. Currently, flower-growing households are busy preparing for flower care to have a successful Tet season, meeting the market demand in and outside the province,” said Mr. Bui Cong Thu - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Luu Vinh Son commune (Thach Ha district).
