Tra Que Vegetable Village launches new brand identity

(Dan Tri) - On June 6, Tra Que vegetable village, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, launched its brand identity (logo) to position the destination's distinct and professional image to tourists.

Representatives of the project “Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development in Vietnam” (ST4SD) and artist Nguyen Quoc Dan (the designer of the identity set) handed over the identity set to representatives of the management agency of Tra Que vegetable village destination, Hoi An city.

According to artist Nguyen Quoc Dan, the motifs of the Tra Que vegetable village brand identity represent: Vegetable village - world cultural heritage - farmer - boat - pioneer torch and water drop.

The meaning of the Tra Que vegetable village identity not only distinguishes this vegetable village but also extends to the development story of the World Cultural Heritage Hoi An, as well as the aspiration to reach out to the ocean, pioneering in the development of green tourism.

“When designing a logo, the artist will pay attention to the local cultural elements, harmoniously combining related elements to tell a deeper, highly applicable story. Just looking at the logo, we will immediately see that this is Tra Que vegetable village, distinguishing it from other logos in the world,” shared artist Nguyen Quoc Dan.

This brand identity helps Tra Que - the best tourist village of 2024 by UN Tourism to position a distinct image of the destination to tourists, as well as convey communication messages to tourists in the most impressive, creative and methodical way.

Tra Que Vegetable Village is a traditional vegetable farming village with a history of more than 300 years, located about 3km northeast of Hoi An ancient town.

Currently, Tra Que has 202 households, with 326 workers directly involved in vegetable production on 18 hectares of cultivated land, bringing a relatively stable source of income.

In 2022, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will register Tra Que vegetable growing as a national intangible cultural heritage.

In 2024, Tra Que vegetable village in Hoi An was honored by the United Nations Tourism Organization as the "World's Best Tourist Village", the only representative of Vietnam to receive this award in 2024.

According to statistics, in 2024, Tra Que vegetable village welcomed more than 34,000 visitors, of which international visitors accounted for the majority, with more than 33,000 visits, accounting for 95.5%.

Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, Director of the Center for Culture - Sports and Radio - Television of Hoi An city, said that Tra Que vegetable village will continue to preserve and conserve unique indigenous cultural values, focusing on the community. Expanding the tourism space towards Co Co river and Tra Que lagoon, diversifying the experience activities for visitors.

Promote tourism development linkages, public-private development models, and link destinations for mutual development. Take advantage of promotional and cooperation opportunities to enhance the brand value of Tra Que vegetable village.
