Leaders of the Ministry of Public Security congratulate the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on the occasion of the 2568th Buddha's Birthday

On May 20, 2024, in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, led a working delegation of the Ministry to visit and congratulate the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and monks, nuns, and Buddhists on the occasion of the Buddha's birthday, Buddhist calendar 2568 (Solar calendar 2024).

Receiving the delegation were Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Member of the Council of Monks, Permanent Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Venerables in the Council of Monks and Executive Council.

On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang presented a flower basket and sent best wishes to the Venerables in the Council of Patriarchs, the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and all monks, nuns, and Buddhists nationwide to celebrate Buddha's birthday 2568 (2024) with peace, joy, and happiness.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that over the past time, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has always accompanied the people, the country and the nation in the cause of defending the Fatherland and building and developing the country. At the same time, he hoped that in the coming time, dignitaries, monks and nuns, and Buddhists would continue to implement and comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; make many positive contributions to social security work and the activities of the Sangha; coordinate and assist the People's Public Security force in ensuring security and order, etc.

With sincere gratitude for the good feelings that the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security force have shown to the Venerables, monks, nuns, and Buddhists, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu also sent his congratulations to General To Lam, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security, who has just been introduced by the Central Committee to be elected by the 15th National Assembly to hold the position of President.
