Senior leaders of China and Russia congratulate new President Liang Qiang

On the occasion of Mr. Luong Cuong being elected President by the 15th National Assembly , leaders of China, Cambodia, Cuba, and Russia sent congratulatory telegrams, letters, and messages.

Congratulating President Liang Qiang, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping affirmed that China attaches importance to developing China-Vietnam relations, supports Vietnam in advancing on the path of socialism in accordance with Vietnam's situation, and supports Vietnam in preparing well for the 14th National Party Congress.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping emphasized that the two sides need to work together to effectively implement the common perception of the senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries.

He also expressed his willingness to work with President Liang Qiang to lead the building of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future in depth and practically, supporting the modernization process of the two countries and bringing more benefits to the people of the two countries.

On this occasion, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen affirmed that Mr. Luong Cuong's election as President reflects the President's talented leadership, dedication, and great achievements for the country and people of Vietnam.

Cambodian leaders expressed their belief that under the leadership of President Luong Cuong, Vietnam will achieve great success, have rapid development in all fields and maintain an important role in the region and the world.

The Cambodian leaders believe that the Cambodia-Vietnam relationship will become increasingly close and cohesive, continuing to contribute to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development; at the same time, they expressed their desire to cooperate closely with senior Vietnamese leaders to promote the highest interests of the two countries and peoples, as well as further contribute to peace, security and prosperity in and outside the region.

Sending congratulations to President Luong Cuong, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba , President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez, expressed his belief that the leaders of the two countries will continue to deepen the extremely good friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

On this occasion, Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed that the relationship between Russia and Vietnam is developing in the spirit of comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Russian President expressed his hope that President Luong Cuong will continue to promote effective bilateral cooperation in all areas, to meet the fundamental interests of the people of the two countries as well as ensure security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.

On October 21, Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong was elected President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term with 440/440 National Assembly deputies present voting in favor.
