Lao Cai: Authorities take action against a group of teenagers who gathered to cause public disorder and filmed the incident to post on social media.

(PLVN) - On December 14th, the Bao Ha Commune Police, in coordination with the Bao Thang and Bao Nhai Commune Police, summoned nine teenagers involved in a public disorder incident, using slingshots to fire steel BBs, filming the event, and posting the videos on social media, for clarification and processing according to regulations.

Accordingly, at approximately 11:45 PM on December 13, 2025, through monitoring online activities, the Bao Ha Commune Police ( Lao Cai Province) discovered a video clip on social media showing a group of teenagers gathering, cursing, and causing public disorder on Provincial Road 161; in which one individual was using a slingshot to fire steel BBs with laser pointers.

Immediately after the incident was discovered, the Bao Ha commune police promptly dispatched a task force to patrol and monitor the area. However, by the time of the inspection, the suspects had already left the area.

The images were cropped from videos the subjects posted on social media.

The police quickly launched an investigation, summoning the individuals involved for processing according to regulations. Initial verification revealed that the group of teenagers mainly came from neighboring areas such as Bao Thang commune, Bao Nhai commune, and some individuals residing in Bao Ha commune.

On December 14, 2025, the Bao Ha Commune Police, in coordination with the Bao Thang and Bao Nhai Commune Police, summoned nine individuals for questioning. These individuals are: La Quoc Tien (born 2008), Hoang Tuan Vu (born 2009), Pham Trong Tu (born 2009), Pham Dang Khoa (born 2007), Trieu Tuan Nhat (born 2008), Luong Hoang Anh (born 2010), Nguyen Tai Quyen (born 2009), Nguyen Dinh Nam (born 2008), and Le Quang Lap (born 2009), residing in Bao Thang, Bao Nhai, and Bao Ha communes.

At the police station, the suspects confessed that on the evening of December 13, 2025, they arranged to meet in Bao Thang commune, then traveled along Provincial Road 161 to Bao Ha commune to resolve a conflict with some local teenagers. Unable to find anyone, they stopped their vehicle in the middle of the road; Pham Trong Tu used a slingshot to fire steel BBs with a laser sight, recorded a video accompanied by abusive language, causing public disorder, and then posted it on his personal Facebook account.

Pham Trong Tu confessed that the gun was borrowed from Trieu Tuan Nhat. On the same day, the Bao Ha Commune Police, in coordination with the Bao Nhai Commune Police, seized the rubber gun at Trieu Tuan Nhat's residence (Bao Tan 2 Hamlet, Bao Nhai Commune).

Currently, the Bao Ha Commune Police are continuing to consolidate the case files to handle the individuals involved according to the law; at the same time, they are strengthening local management, promoting legal education and awareness among young people, preventing disruptive gatherings and the misuse of social media to post offensive and illegal content.
