Descendants of the Bui clan from all over the country came to the National Monument Site of Tran Quoc Cong Bui Ta Han's Tomb and Temple to attend the 457th anniversary of his death. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang, along with delegates, descendants of the Bui clan and local people respectfully offered incense and remembered the merits of Tran Quoc Cong Bui Ta Han, a famous general who had the merit of reclaiming and stabilizing the lives of the people of the ancient Thua Tuyen Quang Nam land.
Tran Quoc Cong Bui Ta Han was from Chau Hoan, Nghe An province, born in 1496, in a family of famous scholars. He was famous as a wise and brave general. After the Le dynasty weakened and lost the throne, Bui Ta Han followed the former Le dynasty official Nguyen Kim, advocated the cause of the king, restored the Le dynasty, and made many contributions. In 1545, Bui Ta Han was appointed by the Le dynasty as the Northern Army Admiral, and led troops to pacify the border of Quang Nam, the land from Da Nang to Phu Yen today. He was appointed by King Le as the governor of Thua Tuyen Quang Nam, and was given the title of Tran Quan Cong in 1546. From here, the land of Quang Nam became increasingly stable and prosperous. It was a solid support for the Nguyen lord later. Bui Ta Han died in the year of Mau Thin 1568. The descendants of the Bui family built a temple to worship him on Ong mountain, then moved it to Lang forest, now in Quang Phu ward, Quang Ngai city.
In recognition of Bui Ta Han's achievements, later feudal dynasties honored and bestowed many royal decrees on him. In 1990, the Tomb and Temple of Tran Quoc Cong Bui Ta Han were ranked as a national historical and cultural relic. In early 2021, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province decided to invest in a project to restore the relic. Collect and display a number of documents, artifacts, and images related to his life and achievements. Create favorable conditions for his descendants and people across the country to visit and commemorate. Every year, on the 15th day of the 5th lunar month, descendants of the Bui clan across the country gather on his death anniversary to remember the merits of Tran Quoc Cong Bui Ta Han.
