Doan communal house festival, Tien Ngoai commune, Duy Tien town in 2024 takes place on April 7-8 (ie February 28-29, Giap Thin year), of which the 28th is the incense offering ceremony, the procession of the saint's palanquin and the installation; the 29th is the main festival with the opening ceremony, organizations, clans offering offerings and the villagers' sacrificial activities.
Doan village communal house is located in a cluster of communal houses, temples, shrines and pagodas that have existed for a long time. In 1937, the communal house was rebuilt in the shape of the Chinese character Nhi, with traditional ancient features.
The temple worships the Three and Four Palaces including Mother Lieu Hanh, Princess Thuy Tinh (Mother Thoai), Lady Que Anh - a servant of Mother Lieu Hanh and Princess Hong Nuong - a general who contributed to the people and the country during the Ly Dynasty.
According to ancient customs, the village communal house holds two ceremonies each year, one in the spring is the lower rice field ceremony and the other in November is the upper rice field ceremony. Those who are responsible for the ceremonies must be vegetarian and bathe carefully. The village has a custom of avoiding the taboo names of the saints worshiped in the communal house when speaking or reading. Currently, the Doan village communal house still preserves the bell cast from the Later Le Dynasty along with many royal decrees and many other valuable antiques.
Doan village festival in 2024 is an important cultural event of the village to preserve and promote the good traditional values of the homeland.
